Hi,
It is often brought up that the requirements of this sim are unclear. I have stated them before in an announcement and a video but I figured posting a simple post explaining exactly what you do makes life easier for everyone. I will list by player type.
New Players
* Reach out to the GM Team to show interest and have an account registered on the forum.
* Create a character bio and wait for approval from the GMs.
* Work with the GMs and your Department Head to post an introduction for your character.
* Welcome to the Sim!
Currently Active Players
* Post once a week in some manner... You can participate in the following means. You only have to do one of these to be considered "active":
- Post a substantive post via the forum (Something that furthers your character's story or the story as a whole; it is your choice which.)
- Set up a one-on-one or group joint post via chat (We use Discord now; that should be simple enough. Make sure a log is posted or that your contribution to the story is somehow made known to the staff so we can incorporate it.)
- Attend a weekly scheduled group chat sim hosted by the GM Team (These currently occur on Fridays at 7 PM Pacific Time and sometimes occur at other times based on demand.)
- Keep in touch with the GM Team in the event that you need to take time off or get lost.
- Enjoy your time here; get to know the other players... This is NOT a job... You are here for your enjoyment; if you are not enjoying this then please talk to a GM so we can help.
Keeping in mind the above at maximum should only take 1 - 2 hours a week. We are not asking for much and we all have lives; remember what the last item says... This is all in good fun... If something we are doing makes this seem like a job then talk to us. If you have questions about any of this please let a GM know. Next I want to explain what our GMs are since some people might not understand:
GM1 (Commanding Officer; sometimes called Lead GM)
The GM1 is in charge of the overall performance of the game. The GM1 controls the movement of the plot as a whole and reports to both the TNU Project Council and Bravo Fleet Task Force 99's TFCO in the progress of the game. The GM1 is ultimately in charge of player's conduct, maintenance of the game's website, forums, reporting systems and ensuring everyone understands the rules.
GM2 (Executive Officer)
The GM2 is the assistant to GM1 and if the GM1 is ever away for an extended period takes on the duties of the GM1. The GM2 is a resource for the players and is usually a experienced simmer/role player who is knowledgeable on the story, technology or other things going on involving the game. The GM2 is really the first person you should come to if you have a problem.
GM3 (Assistant GM)
The GM3 helps guide the story, provide support to the GM1 and GM2 and is generally purposed with just helping to move the story along and provide advice to players or other GMs on how the game is going. The GM3 does not issue disciplinary action and ultimately is a player who the other simmers/role players should see as someone they can bounce ideas off of and talk with to feel more engaged.
Technical/Story Adviser
A player who helps the GM Team plan out the story or technology within the TNU universe. They are not really a game master but more of a person who helps to further the canon of the universe with limited control over story, progression and other tasks.
The current GM Team is
GM1/CO: risaxseph (Josh) - Yuka Layton/Ari Mizriki - RisaXSeph#1977
GM2/XO: tugar (Brian) - Aidan Thornton - Tugar#0537
GM3: kirishima - Murasashi - Kirishima Yuukoni#4237
Technical Adviser: Jack Pine - Jack Pine#7760
If you have any questions about this please contact one of us on Discord. Also I know I said this was short and simple; it is just I explained more for those people who do not have experience in these things. Again if you ever have problems being active or concerns talk to us; preferably before there is a problem it at all possible... We can't help you if we do not know there is an issue... This is just for fun; remember that and know that we want to support your having fun... We are a team after all.
