The New Universes: DFS Lavie August 24 4566 Intermission 3: A Time for Laying Out the Future Narrated by Kiyoko Ino
Lt. Trouve was pulled from the negotiations and Defender the mecha unit piloted by Capt. Layton was sent with Nicklas to negotiate; the machine did so successfully by negotiating from a combat and tactical prospective. Upon returning to the ship the repairs continued and the crew got ready to leave the New Song Colony. Meanwhile Lt. Martinez was recalled to Delta Force Command to be another member of the pilot program where young commanders command new ships; he was put in command of the DFS Phoenix the former ship of Jim Olend whom they would be transporting with the DFS Radius to meet with the Lavie. During these repairs and preparations, a number of things happened in the crew which I will cover next…
So Lt. Martinez, myself and others arrived on the Lavie to help reinforce the lost crew whom died during the battle with FSF. Following this a Delta Force Intelligence ship arrived and dropped Cameron Ward, Emily Quartermaine and their intel team to further supplement the crew. If only father assigned Hikaru here…
The Captain soon reunites with Emily whom is a past lover of hers and they get into a rather sticky situation with the XO. It all ends well though aside from lots of guilt and drama. Cameron also takes time to get to know Sakura Carain whom accepted a permanent role on the Lavie as the ship’s Second Officer and AMC Division Commander (basically she’s my boss). Lt. Trouve also helps Nicklas confront some internal demons and find a purpose for himself. Once we go to meet the Radius a number of the ship’s crew will also be transferred out and replaced Maybe Hikaru will join us there… thought I doubt it; father was pretty pissed when he found out what we did. We will be taking Jim Olend back to EU Command in that strange mansion in space; I have only heard legends of it… Didn’t think such a thing actually existed but it is probably shielded or something from the vacuum of space making it so people can actually be there… After all those folks can pretty much do whatever they want.

Kiyoko Ino August 24th 4566 DFS Lavie - Mechbay – Morning
Kiyoko was once again assigned the morning patrol. This had become common since aside from Dale Flint who enjoyed torturing trainees teaching them Federation protocol and basically running the boot camp Kiyoko and Sakura were the only other qualified, assigned AMC pilots. Sakura was the Second Officer now too so that left most of the AMC patrol duties to Kiyoko herself. She really could use Hikaru here even not just for her love of him but to actually help her not be a slave to the mechbay. They needed more actual pilots. Sure it was notice that Lumi and Yuka were capable pilots but they were both command staff with other duties and so unless they had to leave their MAC units sat there unused unless Defender himself decided he would fly out and about which Kiyoko still thought odd. She did not want to count her and the crew’s life on the AI of such a war machine without a human pilot controlling it.
Kiyoko sat in the mech whistling in an annoyed crappy fashion as she read her book. She was nearly finished with how much time waiting she had. Finally once again the permission was given for her to deploy. She launched form the Lavie in her normal fashion and did her patrol run being covered by fighters. They could easily be destroyed and most of their weapons only faced one way; at least Kiyoko’s machine had weapons he could adjust and fire from behind if needed… She hated how ineffective fighters were… Even if some pilots swore by them. After finishing their two-hour run she and the fighters returned to the Lavie. She got out of her mech sighing. The pilots avoided her as seeing how she handled the maintenance staff made them think she was a grade A bitch. She went to the locker room alone and changed back into her AMC uniform though such things were pointless; she was finally off duty after 12 hours of this. Defender the mech itself; without a pilot would cover until Sakura woke up. Kiyoko did not like it but she needed to rest decompress and not work three shifts in a row. She could wear civilan clothes if she wanted to but she also found that pointless. She had no friends to hang out with and had no desire to strike up random conversation with others. If someone talked to her she would talk to them but she would not initiate. She was also sort of put off that Dom Martinez; the former Chief of Flight Ops was called away almost as soon as he arrived to command a starship. Why could such things not happen to her… Then she could assign Hikaru to her ship and damn her father’s attempt at controlling her life. She was just starting to enjoy Dom’s existence too… Such was military life though.
Kiyoko made her way to the lounge and got a coffee with Irish crème in it from the replicator. It was not as good as what the serving staff and bartender here would serve but she did not want to initiate that conversation so she would go with this unless someone initiated something with her. She took a seat at the table she and Dom were sitting at that one night which was purposefully far from others. She just sat there taking in her drink.

Ensign Emily Martinez August 24th 4566 DFS Lavie - Lounge - Morning
Emily Martinez walked into the lounge area, and ordered a drink. She made a soothing cup of replicated tea. She smelled a familiar aroma, her noise drew closer to Kiyoko. "that smell, my professor at the academy loved that blend of creamer in his coffee" said Emily as she took a seat next to Kiyoko .
She looked at Kiyoko and continued on "Professor Solwick, had a circular rotating fan at his desk, and the irish creamer aroma would spreadout through the room" said Emily, as she got lost in the past for a moment. He was the professor responsible for teaching her about starship operations.
Flashback Sequence: Good morning students, let's begin on page 456 of our text pads, today we will learn how to re route power from the secondary isoleanor relays, without causing a cascade viral shutdown sequence, the secret is in the sequence" pointed out the Professor as he continued on.
Emily was sitting in the room, thinking this was going to be a dull topic, but the professor had a way of making the most dullest topics, be fun and engaging. She wondered how he did it?
"Class classroom program file 26, we will be simulating the re routing power sequence" said Professor Solwick.
Emily began to open up file 26, she was not really looking forward to learning how to reroute basic power, she was a pilot on an operations officer. But every one was a little cross trained on starship operations. The flashback began to fade away, and Emily could see that Kiyoko was looking at her.

Kiyoko Ino DFS Lavie – Lounge August 24th 4566
Kiyoko noticed a woman she recognized enter the lounge and order tea from the replicator. She was Dom’s sister if she recalled correctly; Emily Martinez if memory served her well… which is usually did. Emily took a seat at the table with her. Kiyoko didn’t say anything just sitting there and then Emily spoke.
~ “that smell, my professor at the academy loved that blend of creamer in his coffee" said Emily as she took a seat next to Kiyoko .

Kiyoko initially thought about not responding but the topic peaked her interest when she mentioned Lt. Commander Solwick. He was still an instructor there? Kiyoko spoke setting down her coffee taking a thinking posture. “So he is still an academy instructor… ten years… I was one of my teachers as well… Even though AMC is technically a different branch for the first two years we go to the same academy as everyone else… A form of basic if you would… He and Hikaru got along well… I doubt he would remember me or my brother though.” Kiyoko said mentioning her brother to someone on this ship for really one of the first times. “How is the academy… And how is Earth or did you train at one of the Earth II installations?” Kiyoko asked seeming interested in the woman before her now that they had a common thread to work with; aside from Emily’s brother whom Kiyoko was still annoyed about not getting to know better.

Ensign Emily Martinez August 24th 4566 DFS Lavie - Lounge - Morning
"The Professor is still there, he loves to brag how he turned down command of his own to teach us cadets how to keep a ship together during combat situations" said Emily with a smile. The professor loved to talk, maybe in part, maybe that's why he did not want to be starship commander.
She had heard all of Kiyoko questions and she went on to say "Junior and Senior years at the Academy I was transfered to Mars Orbital Facility and focused my training on starship flight operations officer, my first role out of the academy is Beta Shift Flight Shift Control Officer of the Lavie" said Emily.
Emily's mind thanks to the aroma of the coffee was still stuck on Professor Solwick, she went on to say, "I don't think they will ever get Professor Solwick to leave, he has a passion for teaching" suggested Emily, she doubt that Professor Solwick would ever leave the academy voluntarily.
Emily realized she had yet to properly introduce herself. "Ensign Emily Martinez, nice to meet you" said Emily as she waited for Kiyoko to introduce herself. TAG Kiyoko

Kiyoko Ino DFS Lavie – Lounge August 24th 4566
Kiyoko nodded “Many of the instructors are like that; would much rather remain teachers that go out to battle… We are in such a war-torn state it actually might be useful to not actually go out to battle… Just because command is the end-point for some officers does not mean everyone wants it.” Kiyoko said with a light shrug then she listened to the rest of Emliy’s statement. It did not seem to need her input so she just went back to her coffee. Upon Emily introducing herself Kiyoko replied “Kiyoko Ino one of the Lavie’s AMC Unit Pilots… thanks for the company.” She said introducing herself not intending to leave but not wanting to lead the conversation either.

Ensign Emily Martinez August 24th 4566 DFS Lavie - Lounge - Morning
"A mech pilot, I heard they are a lot of fun, I am only qualified to pilot shuttles and starships" said Emily. She was genuinely interested in the mech pilot program. It was more of a hobby interest versus a career interest. Being a starship pilot was more about operational needs and computer programing, but being a mech pilot from what Emily understood was more about feeling the controls and responding accordingly. Granted there was a lot of computer program with mechs, in a lot of ways it was a lot harder of position to master. Part of Emily felt a bit envious.

Kiyoko nodded. "Consider piloting a mech like piloting a fighter only with legs and arms... when on land you do have to be sort of one with the controls though... The whole forward motion with two legs... I imagine it was more difficult before all the automation; now the computer handles the locomotion piece. "You get trapped in the equivalent of a sardine box though for days on end... it is not comfortable... As cramped as a 20th century sub..."
"A sub" asked Emily, she was not a history buff. She barely knew technology of the 44th through 46th century. She had no idea what a sub was, what ever it was, it sounded unpleasant. (edited)
"sounds unpleasant, perhaps I will look it up later, I have nothing else to do, waiting for the beta shift to start, when do you go on duty" asked Emily, she was trying to make small talk, she hoped the sub remark did not rub her the wrong way.
"It is a small water submerging craft." Kiyoko explained. She in spite of her shyness and wanting to to struggle too hard to converse understood the girl was trying and so she would give her the benefit of the doubt. "See the long range room in these is like 100 square feet along with computers and the pilot and co-pilot seat, the bathroom is no bigger than this table... The bedroom has enough room for a bed and a compartment above you to store things... Very cramped... So.." She stopped for a moment and then replied about her shift. "I am finished for now; winding down before bed." (edited) "I thought these destroyers were bad enough, why would anyone want to serve on a sub, that sounds horrible, glad I will never have to serve on one of those" said Emily, thinking about, what it would be like to be jammed into a tiny sub with no real wiggle room.
She was struggling to keep the conversation going, her mind was thinking about the size of this so called sub, and how miserable it would have been for the crew of these subs. She was visualizing the tightness, and shuttering at the idea of how small of the sub was. It sounded worse than a crew transport vehicle. She wanted to change the topic, she did not want to sound like a whining emo. She did not want to scare off a new potential friend. Emily was still pretty new to the Lavie. "The graveyard shift huh, that's rough, special assignment or standard" asked Emily. She was not sure if Kiyoko was allowed to say anything about her patrols. (edited)Today at 3:50 PM "We have five AMC pilots... One is the Captain, another the Administrative Officer, Next is the Second Officer and Unit CO... Last but not least is our Training Officer... In other words I pretty much do everything..." Kiyoko explained simply; there seemed to be a bit of a whine about it.
"Only five to protect the Lavie, I would think we would need hundreds of them" suggested Emily. She went on to say "Are we not the symbol of the president's personal fleet, a target of opportunity for the Faith Services Fleet or any other hostile invader out there" asked Emily. "some day you will be an XO, your time will come, never stop believing in that, it worked for my brother" said Emily. She knew he hated the way this war was being fought and he worked hard to be seen and promoted. He knew that Yuka was seen, and she too wanted to change this war for the better. Emily had no doubt that Kiyoko had a similar vision.
"what I would want most of all is to not be tied to wherever my father assigns me... and to have my brother back." She replied happy that at least someone had faith in her abilities. It's not that she didn't have faith in her piloting abilities it was more in her skills as a person that she didn't have faith in. "We don't get to choose our assignments normally, but typically the military likes to separate families, look at Dom and I, for a very short time we were both on the Lavie, next moment he is gone" said Emily as she thought her brother for a moment. "I will do my best to have your back, and try to keep the ship from flying into a planet, after all, isn't that why counselors are not allowed to fly starships" teased Emily.
"The thing I don't understand about the family stuff is that yeah they don't like families being together but then why the hell... is my father allowed to assign us wherever he wants... that has to be against the rules somewhere..." she said. She then thought for a moment about Emily's second sentence. "i'll make sure the ship doesn't get destroyed by flying morons... That way you can avoid planets more easily."(A whole lot isn't covered about what it does outside of the couple weapon systems in the manufactures so you can actually fill that in howyou want.)
"Typically fathers are not involved in military situations, but your dad sounds like an important military admiral, there always exceptions to every rule" said Emily, as she wondered, what exception was briefly made for Dom and Emily? (edited) "... so a vengeful father who... never mind it's not appropriate..." she said stopping her train of thought.
"Feelings are always appropriate, between friends, do not fear, I will not share your feelings without your consent" pointed out Emily.
"... Our father found out my twin and I... had feelings for each other... so he assigned my brother so far away that he's on the front lines fighting FSF... and I'm over here... I feel like he shouldn't have been allowed to put us wherever he wanted. Shouldn't someone else have been involved in that assignment..." she hoped that she did not immediately burn a bridge by mentioning that she had feelings for her brother.
"Family are suppose to be close, to care for another, unless your saying it was more intimate" asked Emily. She was at a loss of words, at this very moment. She wondered if she miss understood Kiyoko.
"... it's the latter... basically we were stuck on our little Mech for months at a time alone with no other contact." She explained not thinking that would matter as a prejudgment had likely been made or so she thought.
"It's not as uncommon as you think, for twins to become real close and in rare cases intimate with one another, hopefully you from you earthling based planet and not a teran based one" asked Emily. She knew the earthlings were more accepting and understanding, unlike the teran colonies, they were very regid and not compassionate about situations like this,.
"I'm from Earth... The original not Earth II... Since President Hukari has ran Earth though things seem more peaceful at least from the point of view of earth..."
"The admirals will never change... just look at my father..."
"They are stuck in the old ways, I know as a society we need to change if we are grow as a society" said Emily, the conversation got really deep with meaning, all of a sudden.
"…That's what I tried to say in a rather abrupt manner to the admiral who commands the Arvonous... I was demoted for mouthing off."
"Maybe people like Captain Yuka Layton, Senator Sarah Gillman, and President Hukari Carain can change that for us all" pointed out Emily.
"Hopefully... Plus in order for you to really do anything you have to have good people under you..."
"I believe our captain does" said Emily as she smiled in the direction of Kiyoko, "I'm referring to you" said Emily.
"Yeah... with that brother of yours running away I'll need more people to talk to..." she said still annoyed that Dom left; but then again so are other people that probably mattered more to him than she did. She only just started conversing with him.

Kiyoko Ino Nicklas Blom August 24th 4566 DFS Lavie, Library/Kiyoko's Quarters/Nick's Quarters
Kiyoko had left the lounge after her conversation with Emily M. She was interested in the concept of someone who was from the academy catching her up on the happenings there but that was really the only reason she entertained the girl's conversation. Kiyoko liked being secluded with her brother on the Seeker but since he was reassigned she was now left with the Seeker herself and had no interest in friendships as far as she could throw them; which was nowhere; conveniently. She was in the ship's library and had the database replicate her a book on old Earth science fiction stories cataloging the advancements in sci-fi writing over the course of three hundred years by a long dead author whom was more of a commentator than an author. He was the brother of a renown fiction writer whom Kiyoko loved even though he too was long dead... Pity... People she might actually have some interest in talking to because their stories were so epic were both corpses.
Niklas could have accessed the information he needed from anywhere at any time. It was a perk of being so connected to database. In this case, his positronic brain was rather occupied at the moment, still compiling and absorbing the massive amount of data he received from Lumi's android's counterpart. Walking in to the ship's library, he had intended to look it up the old fashioned way, when he noticed a young woman with a book in her hand. " Good morning. Anything interesting in there?" Niklas asked indicating the book.
Kiyoko initially ignored the appearance of the person entering the library. She did not care what someone was; android, human, klingon... It did not matter to her because she did not care in the slightest about who or what he was anyway. Once he spoke though she felt it too rude to just flat out ignore him entirely... She at least had enough courtesy to respond to someone when they talked to her. "Morning... Interesting is relative... Some people would find genre commentary over time to be quite boring... I; at least in this context enjoy it... What brings you here?" She asked only to be polite; she really did not care.
"Bored in a sense. I want to keep occupied until I have an actual function or job on the ship. I wanted to look up some information and do it the old fashioned way instead of linking it right to me." Niklas said.
Kiyoko chuckled internally. He was bored so he sought out a way to look up information by actually reading it. Maybe he was like her and just liked reading but wouldn't outright admit that he came here to read. "... until you have a... function... Nevermind... What sort of information?" She asked slightly more interested due to the commonality of them both wanting to actually read.
"Dry subjects mostly. Anatomy, physiology, quantum physics. The information is there but the download is....impersonal and cold. Unlike a real paper book. Though now what you mention it, maybe some fictional material might provide more of a distraction. Hmmm." Niklas pondered, then added. What did you come here to find out?"
"Quantum physics... uh... Don't they cover that in elementary and secondary school now... or do you mean the more advanced formula related stuff? Physical paper... There is just something about it you know... What sort of fiction do you like?" Kiyoko asked seemingly more interested in him. Downloading information even through VX was so impersonal and though it was faster there was just something about it... A skill was learned not instantly known... The thought of just downloading things annoyed Kiyoko even if it was commonplace still if someone could just become as good as you without actually doing anything then what was the point.
"The more advanced material. I am brushing up and may become the science officer if I can get to that level. Planetary Governor is a much harder job to get and I've done that for a few decades already. Mystery novels, some fantasy. Non-military science fiction in some cases, but then I will read about anything once. Had quite the extensive library back on planet. Have to start over now." "Sciencey stuff... Eh... Outside of my paygrade... I just go get shot at for a living..." She smirked as she changed her sitting position to sitting in a cross-legged manner in her chair at the reading able. There were only a handful in here as it was figured by logistics that nobody would actually "read" "Oh... So you use to govern a planet... Why'd that end... Seems a lot more luxurious than being a science officer on a military ship full of people who probably wont make it out of this upcoming war... I like dramas but dramas that you know follow a whole persons life I dont really care what time period it is from or is about... A mystery romance novel though sounds sort of fun... So you liked to read... I bet your previous job gave you lots of time for that... Probably about as much as my last assignment... All I did between spending time with Hikaru, battles and doing my job was read... Traveling around in a mech leaves a lot of time to just think... So I read!" She seemed to be hitting it off; this was probably the most extensive conversation that did not directly relate to her giving a mission report that she had been a part of in a while.
"It ended when the AI's on the planet forced a coup. Then the one in charge transferred my consciousness into an android body then vaporized my physical body while I watched." It came out angrier than he intended. "Water under the bridge so to speak. After 83 years, I was due for a change anyway. But yes. I had much time to read and play my piano. This is quite the change, but what is life without adventure?"
"Um... If your consciousness was still intact the medical division could have just made you a new body... Probably even made it better than before... You know made you younger and all... Though... You look pretty young now... I assume that was the intent." Kiyoko noted putting a finger to her forehead before continuing "Though humanity is fucked up to its core so its likely the AIs were all fucked up from the get go anyway... Could be a blessing or a curse... I have no idea... I think for me its a curse..." She stopped for a second then continued again. "Like you said... water under the bridge... You can't go back just like I can't change that my father separated my brother and I..." As he mentioned reading, life being an adventure and his age though she sort of seemed to lock up a little. She realized she was opening up a bit to much to some random she just met.
Sensing the nervousness, Niklas, ever the diplomat, sprung into action. He clicked his heels together in a mock attention and offered his hand. "Niklas Blom. At your service." "eh... Kiyoko Ino..." Kiyoko said in a sort of tense fashion; she went from not caring to opening up and now her shyness wanted to have her seek the protection of solitude but she still found this guy interesting. She was torn between wanting to talk but not wanting to talk. "Let's change the subject. You know what I do, or want to. What is it that you do...Miss Kiyoko?" "Um... I'm pretty much the ship's only dedicated mech pilot.... I also have skills as a tactician and medic." She said simply answering the question her state visible in her face by now but slightly less with the change of topic.
"Tactics. That sounds like a dry subject to me, but I was never one for war. Yet, here I am in the midst of it. What is it you do for fun? I have my aforementioned piano and our shared love of the printed word. Surely you have other things or someone that you center you attentions on." Niklas asked. (edited)
"I like to cook... It rarely happens though... there simulators and old television... collecting things and basically marveling at the catalog of history... if that makes any sense... If I ever get out of this war business I want to open a museum." She wanted to say that she would want to do that with her brother but she kept that thought inside for now; besides her father literally ripped Hikaru from her grasp... IF she had a way she would get him to come back but she didn't right now. "Ah. The culinary arts. I have a few recipes that have been perfected over the course of my life. While I no longer require sustenance, I have been known to enjoy a good meal. Perhaps a potluck of books and foods could be done at some point if you are interested?" he asked. As he spoke her eyes opened. She seemed lost; was he actually offering to something with her. She never really had friends and the few she did have usually ended badly, were killed or ended up getting reassigned... like her brother. She knew it was part of the job but that did not make such things any easier though it made any attempt at friendship painful especially on top of her already difficult and overly blunt personality. She'd probably say something stupid to burn this bridge at some point too. "You want me... to teach you... how ot cook... and ... um... okay." At the very end her voice seemed sort of small when she agreed; her struggle was visible within that one final word. "No. I want you to teach my what YOU cook, and vice versa. Along the way, perhaps it gets less awkward. You don't know me, I don't know you. Since we are both trapped, perhaps misery loves company would be appropriate?" He smiled at her.
"Why me though... I'm just a war grunt who isn't in your type of crowd... Your an intellectual... I'm just a foot solider..." She said her mind trying to force her to seek an out even if she wanted to take him up on the offer; she was sort of afraid. Her only real friend of the last few years was her brother. Nicklas was right about one thing though; they were both trapped. She was forced to stay here by her father and unless she proved her worth to the President, Yuka, Misuki, Sakura... she was at the whim of her father.
"My type....?" Niklas chuckled a bit. "My dear lady, that is EXACTLY why we should. Odd pairings are sometimes the best pairings. Jalapeno jelly? Peanut butter and bacon?! Besides, I have to admit a certain curiousity to how a multi-ton robotic behemoth is piloted." (edited) (lol; even though by prospective a full lieutenant is not a foot solider or a grunt by any means lol) ( he forgets he's not 80+ years old anymore. ) (in a ground operation where infantry were supported by a mech she would COMMAND the infantry... she is an officer)
"Um... I guess... I'll defer to your judgement..." She said finally resisting her urge to want to escape this situation and hide inside of her "safe space"
Kiyoko stands taking his arm abruptly. "Lets go do something before I get cold feet and run away... cause I know its coming... unless you like chasing after a mech in a decompressing launch bay..." holding her book in her other hand gripping it tightly. (edited)
"Won't kill me." He quipped. "What shall we do first? We can compile reading lists later."
"You are the one who had this crazy idea... I want to change out of my uniform first though... so lets stop at my quarters... Unlike some of the freaky officers on this ship I cant just snap my fingers and change my clothes..."
He crooked his arm and let her hook into his. "Lead on."
She did so and then took them to her room not saying anything on the walk keeping her focus on moving so she didnt trip at the oddness or go down some ill-fated path of stupidity. Niklas made note of her timidity.
Once they arrived at her room it seemed actually pretty sparse. Her bag was on the dresser. A few things were on her stand next to her bed but nothing of much consequence. She released him upon entering and went to her bag which she had not unpacked. She grabbed some clothes from it and went into the restroom without another word. She came out in a pink dress and sandals. Her hair was tied behind her back. The dress seemed quite comfortable; more so than her uniform. "There." She said; this was the first word she said in at least ten minutes. (edited)
"Quite nice actually. The pink makes your blue eyes pop. If this is a food outing, I need to know what meal you are hungry for, or we could enjoy the arboretum." He added after a brief pause, 'no pressure. I'm just happy to not be hooked to some machine. " (edited)
"You pick..." She said simply her mind immediately jumping to thinking if he was being so innocent that his innocence literally would destroy the universe or if he was trying to make this a date; she did consider it her own fault if that somehow happened to be what this was. She didn't dare ask though. (Again the whole hes not a cute little 80 year old man anymore lol)
"Well...are you hungry?" Niklas chuckled a bit.
"eh... hungry... I usually only eat enough to keep myself going actually..."
NIklas glanced over as he pondered, catching a glimpse of himself. He was thoughtful for several moments, his smile fading. "You must think me a cad. I keep forgetting that I am not some cute old man and my actions could be misconstrued. I genuinely just wanted some company. That fact that you are an attractive woman is ALMOST incidental. While my actions may only be 98% pure, my desire was conversation, nothing else." (edited)
His response made her feel even more awkward. She replied sort of in a giddy dismissive sort of reaction. "Oh... it's okay... I didn't think that at all... honest...." she chuckled at the end half-halfheartedly for added effect. The wall could even see through her attempt at minimization that it was such a horrible defense.
"You must allow me to make amends. What is you favorite dish? I AM a great cook." His response made her feel even more awkward.
I AM a great cook." Niklas said. (edited)
Kiyoko thought about his question for a moment. Would he even be able to make anything she likes... she then spoke seeming kind of nervous. "well um... i'm kind of weird... you know those simple Japanese rice balls I'd fill theme with cream... er kind of like a custard thing... it sounds really really weird but it actually tastes pretty good..." (yes she's a little off)
"Well, okay. You have me at a disadvantage there Miss Kiyoko. But I do make a mean cheesecake. Which is essentially a custard pie. I have not made rice pudding in years, thought I do remember I liked it. Funny how things tend to go away and come back sometimes."
"... if you're meaning something that's not as Asian I guess... bread pudding... or those little cream puff things... why am I talking so much about sweets you didn't specifically ask me about sweets... uh... udon... with shrip and spices!" she said emphatically
Niklas chuckled. "I get it...I can actually do Asian. In fact.....i just might surprise you. Interested enough to follow me to the Mess Hall?
"won't the like two or three kitchen staff murder you..." she said actually caring for once that someone didn't piss other people off because she didn't want to ruin how nice this guy was being by someone yelling at him. (edited)
"This will not do. Sadly we may need to replicate a few items if they cannot be found. Have you ever had Sakura Mochi?" (edited)
"Eh... You know my brother and I were raised in Japan right... oh wait you probably don't... I'm sorry." She initially responded to him in a typical sort of pointed manner almost defaulting to her normal mannerisms and then noticed how inappropriate that sounded and so she immediately apologized. (edited)
"I think I can prepare something appropriate. I actually do have some gravlax in stasis. One of the few things I was able to recover from the planet. Since you probably like sushi....I think you'd like that. Smoked salmon?"
"Sure... I never get back to Earth so all I get is replicated crap as it were you know... Warships usually don't have very talented cooking staff as most folks are just okay with the replicator... I talk too much..." She said and at the end stopping herself seeming like shes taking things too far. Between her not wanting to make him angry and her attempts at protecting herself with her shyness things were pretty awkward for her; she usually would be dismissed with her snide comments or just ignore someone out of a conversation... This was truly rare... Was it because this man was previously aged and so he understood more or was it that she somehow found him safe to talk to... She did not know. "You don't talk too much. I hear enough of my own voice. I think we can bother the kitchen for a small amount of dark bread some cream cheese and a tomato or two. It's all we really need unless you had something else in mind?
(her nonverbal shows her giddiness though... I dont really know how to describe it but I think you know what I mean)
"If you are certain... Okay... but where would we cook... Making stuff with a replicator just isn't the same as actually cooking..." She enjoyed this topic.
"Well this is more like assembling. I'll request a simple stove top and oven setup for my quarters." "The quartermaster can do that?" She did have part of her degree from the academy in logistics support but room reconfiguration manuals didn't really cover things like this. She'd served for a long time but never encountered someone who re-purposed part of their quarters into a permanent cooking space... It was usually temporary and so not as nice.
(combat logistics support is NOT engineering lol)
"I don't see why not. A simple heating element and some surfaces. Most people don't bother. Cooking has become a nearly lost art since the replicator. If the engineering staff is unwilling. I have the knowledge to assemble something. It's not going to warp." (edited)
"... Okay..." She replied simply; she would leave that to him. "Lets go then. Going to warp... You sound so old... Going to slipstream my dear man..." She teased.
"That's one thing that bugs me. I know how I sound. The exterior is....wrong. I don't feel like the image this body portrays. You're a nearly impartial observer. What is your assessment?"
"You are kinda cute honestly... Coming from a shy, opinionated shut in pilot I really have no place to judge... Were it not for my brother I probably would have sealed myself in a room and threw away the key or been shot for my insolence by now for pissing off the wrong person."
She said attempting to laugh it off.
"Well I may have to split the difference and have him grow up a little. A little grey and a wrinkle or two..." Niklas said. "But I thank you for your compliment. Cute is not a word I have heard used in a long time." Niklas. "Plus I haven't seen any insolence. You're a charming companion, when you aren't afraid to show it." (edited)
"See that is what I mean... you are just so nice... being all charming to a girl you just met... It is so adorable! I think a few years would suit you though cause your personality would augment the aged look and make you like one of those aged wines... sweet yet satisfying..." She paused and said in a less cherry voice "Wasn't my comment mean though... I was rude... the only redeeming thing about it was I apologized..."
Niklas answered honestly. "You think you're rude, because you called me cute? If someone is locking anyone up, I think it needs to be the ones restraining your behavior. "You've been a delight, and speaking of cute, I think we cornered the market together." Hinting at her own attractiveness. (edited)
"Oh... um... what I meant by rude was when I assumed you knew in a matter of fact and pointed manner that my brother and I were from Japan... So I wasn't too mean? I told my superiors at one point about how I did not agree with the politics of the wars being fought and in a rather inappropriate manner told them how they could do their jobs better... That landed me a demotion and pissed off my father whom is an Admiral... though he seems to care more about his career then Hikaru, my mother or I... I scream at pilots and mechanics about how they can do their jobs better so people dont DIE and I get yelled at... morons..." She was started to get a little huffy with her comments until the fact that he said she was cute hit her. "... Well... thank you... cute is more than attractive at least to me... but you too are pretty high in the attractiveness factor too." She said cheered up by his words. Her shyness though still slightly there seemed to be melting away more and more as she spoke to him. At least in his case.
"Ah...I tend to let things blow on past. I didn't know where your family was from. I was taking offense at something that trivial. Now telling Admirals how to do their jobs....." He raised a finger and waggled it at her a little in a scolding motion. "You should know better, power corrupts and absolute power....you know the rest."
"But I mean if the President is a noble and good as she is put out to be... Then how in the hell are all these corrupt moronic idiots still left... I'd make a better leader then half of them... You even without experience in war could do their job for hem... governing an entire world through a conflict like what happened even if they deseated you THAT is the sort of leaders we need... Not people like my father who would put their RANK before their family..."
She seemed to be getting rather irritated; not at him but at the situation. In the back of her mind she wondered how long it would take for some corrupt idiot to replace this ships command staff with puppets.
"Preaching to the choir, as the saying goes. Though when you're excited like that, you're eyes get a deeper shade of blue." Niklas said.
She stared at him for a moment wondering if that was innocent or if she should punch him in the stomach for hitting on her. She decided against the punching route as he would probably hurt her when she hit him since his body was that of an android. "Where did the GFed find you... Seriously... like knight in shining armor super intellectual man does not even begin to... How do you not have a fan club or something... Damn..." She said her eyes seemingly pulsing with a sort of passion for him as a being; not love but this like... well she looked up to him.
(He has a fangirl lol)
(all he had to do was offer to cook for her and be nice XD)
Niklas chuckled. "No fan club. Some of it was the former job. I was a governor of a planet after all. I should be at least a little charming. As for the knight part. I think my heart is a little more stained than I would like, but I suspect we all could use a little cleansing. Maybe that's why I am trying so hard now to change into something this ship could use. It has the speak softly, but carry a big stick feeling." "stained would not even come close to the shit a mech pilot has to go through... Watching your subordinates go out and die in front of you... War is horrible and even though the methods have changed and the tactics are different it is still just as bad, horrific and life changing as it ever was... I wonder what we all would do if war just suddenly ended..."
"No chance of that I'm afraid. We only get to control our little corner." Niklas added "Yeah... Sadly... That's life though... Stupid father..." Kiyoko said muttering the last part to herself. She then said "shall we go then... Lead on Sir Nicklas." "First, we'll swing by the mess hall for the bread and tomatoes, We may get lucky with the hydroponics planters I saw. Then to my quarters for the mentioned gravlax (smoked salmon) or would you prefer to eat in the mess hall?" Niklas asked. "... show me what you can do then..." she said putting her hand out. "And wherever... I lived in a Mech for months at a time.,, cramped spaces, risqué situations... it's all meaningless to me at least in that perspective. Let's just say when your copilot comes out of the shower naked every other day it starts to not be an issue." She said with a wink "Plus in those situations your a soldier first. you being a boy or girl doesn't matter and same thing with the person your bunk with... tight spaces)
Niklas wasn't sure whether to blush or shrug. He took the offered hand and walked with her to the mess hall. He checked the planters and there were two tomatoes. A little undersized for what he wanted to do, but they would suffice. Taste was more important. The staff supplied some onion bagels and cream cheese. He asked to borrow a chef's knife. "I think we have everything we need."
"Okay... Show me you Asian chef side Garson..." she said crudely
"Well this is more the Swedish chef, breakfast edition, but I think we'll manage. " They made the short trip to his quarters. Placing the items down, Niklas washed to tomato and quickly sliced several thin slices from each fruit. He got inventive and used an iron he kept around to toast the surface of each sliced bagel before topping with cream cheese and the spiced gravlax. ( think Lox but with a touch of sugar, pepper and or horseradish)with the tomato separating the fish from the cheese. "Oh... You tease... make me mention all those Japanese dishes then you go Swed on me." She teased "Once we get a proper cooktop and some simple utensils I can make a proper meal for us....but this is a favorite. At least it used to be. "
Niklas hadn't had any Gravlax in a long time. He didn't want to waste if with his not perfected senses. "Before you got robotafied"
"Sadly true. I have made some improvements recently, but I used to be what is known as a super-taster. Overly sensitive palette. Now....seems a little wasteful. Especially with this." He waved his hand indicating the salmon
"in fact....I may have something you'd like." He went to a nearby cabinet and pulled out a simple jar filled with a substance and burgundy in color. "If you'd enjoy, it's yours. Lingonberry jam. Somewhere between a raspberry and a cranberry." (edited)
"Oh... looks yummy!" Kiyoko said then commented on his statement "sorry... maybe we could make you taste... it's a programming thing...we could do it!" She said wanting to help him
"Oh don't worry about me. I'll figure it out. You wouldn't want to be trapped in a boring lab." (edited) "A boring Mech cockpit is better... how... I'd prefer a lab."
"Touche." He was thoughtful for a second. "I could always use the help....and I wouldn't mind learning to pilot a mech...is that the correct term?" (edited)
" so we could share notes and stuff. So weird question for you... i'm pretty sure you know a lot about intimacy and all that kind of stuff... Advice for a girl who wants to share their full feelings from a distance cause they can't see the person in person?" She asked while taking some of the food and trying it to see how he did.
"Well if you count 40+ years of marriage.....I do know a thing or two. Plus the miners weren't exactly saints, causing some of the problems that started the AI insurrection. So you like this person...how much do they know?"
"... He and I have slept together when we shared our feelings... The problem is I don't know if he knows I'd want to be with him forever if I could... I think he feels the same way about me... but due to reasons he can't express it..." (edited)
"he mentioned retiring with me so I don't know if he really knows how I feel... or if that's a sign..." "You're going to need to ask, straight out. One thing about relationships. Honesty is the only option. If you don't KNOW that he knows, you need to make sure he does."
Kiyoko seems sort of visibly stirred by the statement. She then speaks. "this stuff is really good... and the problem is..." she initially pauses thinking that he will entirely dismiss her completely if she tells him this so she decides to tell him anyway. "The problem is... He's my brother..." she had this weird look on her face. It seems to be a combination of embarrassment and a number of other emotions. "Adopted, half, or full?"
"... he's... my twin..." she said sheepishly
"That....is rather unique. Most communities have laws against that sort of relationship." "... My father separated us..."
"Do you really want my honest opinion? It's going to be rather harsh."
"... um... go for it... the worst I'd do is run away..."
"I would be surprised if you really love him. I think it's more the idea of him. Forced separation. Something you can't have. Things you've mentioned during out limited conversation that indicates you keep people at a distance because you don't want to be close to someone and have to love them for real."
"... I had these feelings even when we were together."
"to be honest until we both kissed I instantly thought he was going to reject me and tell me no cause I was his sister... that didn't happen."
"and you see this as a long term thing that people are going to accept?"
"if my father is any example people won't accept it." (edited)
"Do you want children?" (edited)
"... honestly I haven't thought of that. I'm on birth control anyway because of what I do. It's not like someone who is going to go out and die in a war should consider the possibility of having children." "besides if I even cross that road at all and father finds out he would kill Hikaru-chan and I."
"If your brother even shares the same feelings. That needs to come first. "
"you mean us figuring out if we want children?"
"If he even wants to pursue this as a relationship."
"... oh... I see... how can I do that from a distance though?"
"We have this technology, called speech. It's used to communicate ideas."
" that's mean... i'm sorry I shouldn't be asking for romantic advice... especially for something like this... from someone I just met. I apologize." She said in a formal manner doing one of those slight formal bows. She then resumes eating the food and doesn't say much..
"Mean, but honest. You have to talk to him. Encrypt it...whatever. There are ways of securing the channel. If he feels the same, you can plan. Not many are going to care that brother and sister talk. If he doesn't want to pursue it, why drag it out for months or years, putting the rest of your life on hold." She just simply nods in acknowledgment of his response. She finished the food then says "thank you for the meal."
"You are welcome. I am many things Kiyoko. A puller of punches, not so much. I just don't want to see you throw your life away waiting for something that risky. You are too valuable for that and you should value yourself more."
"I think you have a lot to offer someone. That;s all." (edited)
At his words she just sits there a undecided look on her face at how to take him; she was confused, taken aback and also amazed. She just sat her hands on her knees looking down at them pondering them and what she should do... should she run away and escape this awkward situation, sit here and not respond or give thanks. Other options entered her mind but she did not believe that any of those would be worthwhile, safe or appropriate... She could respond negatively but that also would not help her situation and would just further create a gap between Nicklas and her. (edited)
He got up and walked over. "Just think about it." He leaned over and kissed her lightly on the cheek, then walked back to the countertop and started cleaning.
Kiyoko stared at her hands. As he kissed her on the cheek her face whitened she then stood and said "I need to go." She made her way to the door the whiteness still flush in her face
Niklas wasn't going to stop her. "You know where to find me if you want to talk."
She heard him and didn't acknowledge just opening the door heading out and returning to her quarters for a cold shower which she entered still clothed only removing her sandals quickly becoming soaked while staring off into the distance. She'd opened up; maybe too much she thought hoping she did not alienate herself. Maybe mentioning her relationship with her brother was a mistake… She had no idea. She had felt like a knife was wedged within her. It was not because of what he said or the situation between she and her brother but it was one created by her father in that if she were just able to talk to her brother about this things would be easier as Nicklas suggested but now things were intently awkward and though he was right she clammed up and wanted to escape the serious and emotional confrontation out of fear.

RisaXSeph - Yesterday at 7:08 PM Yeah <start sim> Kiyoko stepped out of the shower still in her wet clothes seemingly staring around confused about what she should do. She then decided that sitting around in wet clothes I was probably not the best idea so she changed out of the wet dress and into nightwear. She then dried herself off and laid down thoughts continuing to flow through her head... she couldn't rest now nor did she want to. She finally decided to take some form of Nick Blom's advice and that maybe that would help her sleep. She went over to the work desk in her quarters and connected to the ships communications operators as it occurred to her she had no idea where her brother was. She explains that she wanted to contact her sibling who also works in AMC... The operator noting that it was normal for siblings to talk and there was nothing going on that would require use of communications channels right now decided to assist her in locating her brother. He contacts Earth's fleet "dispatch" for lack of a better term and they route him to a base near the rim. (I will let you decide what he's doing.). The base's comm Officer routes the channel to Hikaru's quarters. Before the arrival of the communication the Lavie operator just transfers the line to Kiyoko telling her his assignment. (things like this are why I could never understand why they did away with operators or why in most science-fiction stuff they completely ignore that concept. A computer attempting to route your concern without understanding what's going on would be unable to assist that's the reason human operators exist even though it's hard to find them anymore) kaligos - Yesterday at 7:19 PM (in star trek, communications officers still exist, even post TOS, in TNG, they are also walking translators, or experts in multiple xenos languages.) RisaXSeph - Yesterday at 7:20 PM (OK I guess I just never really saw them... in this case because Lavie is a warship usually the operators are directing combat operation calls and things like that but obviously since the ship it's just traveling not much is going on with COM channels) Kiyoko stared at the screen in anticipation waiting to see what happened; would Hikaru even take her--- of course he would... why would she even doubt such a thing... People saying he didn't love her was apparently chipping away at her resolve and their father was never any help on the matter. kaligos - Yesterday at 7:27 PM (is there a front lines? and where would it be?) (like if you wanted too see someone die, where would you send them?) RisaXSeph - Yesterday at 7:27 PM (With FSF yeah... Lavie is heading there soon) (Probably to somewhere near Betazead as that planet is where the FSF annexed) kaligos - Yesterday at 7:31 PM okay (also i love that she actually checks that this is completely normal) Liuetnant Hikaru had just pulled his bland tasteless meal into his quarters, when his consol started to beep. He blinked looking at it for a moment. No one would call him, not in this place. His father had put him close enough to the battle that he had seen more action here than he cared for, and yet it had distinguished him. For as tired as he felt he had climbed a rank, mostly because that's what happens when the people ahead of you keep dying. He would have given anything to go back to his simpler assignments or to go back and see his sister, but since that wasn't possible, he decided that he would just do his job. He had hardened, done in a sense exactly what his father had wanted to grow up.
The world he was on was an icy ball of hell. His mech was in the shop, and he sat bundled under a blanket as he looked at the call, not recognizing the id for a moment. Before he answered it and saw the one face in this universe that he actually still had some care for. His features were still hardened, he hadn't shaved in a few days, he looked like he hadn't slept either, but was relieved. "Hey." His voice came with a slight rasp to it, and the camera showed his breath against the cold room.
"Kiyoko-chan." He had thought about what he was going to say too her if he ever saw her again, but the words kind of got lost against the cold. "How are you, you look good, getting enough to eat? staying healthy I hope?" (i gave him a battlefield promotion if that's okay?) RisaXSeph - Yesterday at 7:42 PM (That's fine) Kiyoko stared for a moment even after he spoke. There was not a delay but she just didn't know what to say. She finally decided to speak. "Little brother... You look like hell... He threw you into battle didn't he...." She looked quite peeved but did not vocalize her anger. "... it matters more how are you... what have you been up to?" She didn't want to talk about herself right now. (she's like seconds older than him lol) (That's not little lol) kaligos - Yesterday at 7:53 PM (i know i was gonna make the same comment in the othe rp) kaligos - Yesterday at 8:00 PM "He threw me into battle." There was little doubt in his mind that their father had expected him to wilt up and die, hell he was more surprised the mech he had even worked or wasn't an older model. Rather he was given good equipment and pointed towards the enemy and told not to come back everything he did was in defiance of that order. It was his punishment for 'corrupting his sister' He shook his head at the thought. "We were both pulled out, so i don't know where you are getting this older sister thing from Kiyoko-chan." He smiled, for what felt like the first time ever he was actually smiling. Gods he had missed her. "I'm grounded for the moment, mech lost an arm in my last battle, still have to re-attach it, but hey on the bright side you should see what i did to the other guy." RisaXSeph - Yesterday at 8:08 PM "... were you injured?" She asked seemingly concerned. "we may have been born seconds ahead of each other; that still technically makes me older..." she said in a teasing manner attempting to hide her overwhelming sorrow at his situation. She then spoke seriously "... Have you been okay... have you made any friends... I hope you're okay..." she'd apparently become more emotional since he saw her last. She wanted to ask him if he still loved her but The concern for his well-being temporarily overwrote that kaligos - Yesterday at 8:13 PM (I actually did rolled a dice for a random injury... not sure if i should go with this result though) (the result i rolled would have his entire left arm missing) RisaXSeph - Yesterday at 8:14 PM ( my roll just now was nine) kaligos - Yesterday at 8:14 PM (so should i go for it?) RisaXSeph - Yesterday at 8:15 PM (flips a coin) (Survey says no) kaligos - Yesterday at 8:18 PM Friends that was a novel concept. Hey guys lets all get a beer and have a drink while we huddle around this fire and try not to die since the last bombing run ran out the power again. "Fiiine you win Onee-chan, I've been.. a little too busy to socialize lately." He couldn't stop smiling seeing her face. "I'm fine, look." He pulled off the blanket to just show that he wasn't hurt, his arms free for her to look at, as well as his uniform before he curled up under the blankets again. "Too cold, Never thought i would miss the inside of a mech."
and did he ever, he would have given anything to be back in that two man unit with Kiyoko, curled up in that warm bed of theirs. looking over her body. "It's too cold here, have to wear layers even when sleeping." (time to walk dog) RisaXSeph - Yesterday at 8:32 PM "I'm glad you're okay... I'm sorry I am such a screw up... I caused all our troubles..." she did a light bow sort of movement. "Please forgive your stupid onee-chan Hikaru-kun." She said in a formal manner. She felt really bad that she put him in the situation and she wanted to fix things. She had almost completely forgotten about the reason that she called because she felt so at fault right now for their situation. She has definitely gotten the better end of things even though she was the one who initiated to begin with. She got up close to the screen. "Please tell me you don't loath me... daisuki da yo" The last part in Japanese she actually said in a very low tone almost to the point of where it was unrecognizable.(edited) She had a apologetic look on her face the entire time. (based on that even though they are brother and sister and they've been together for a while they haven't really been in a meaningful relationship for a while so I choose to use the lesser form of "I love you" Japanese is an interesting language) kaligos - Yesterday at 8:47 PM (I took it in high school and university) kaligos - Yesterday at 9:03 PM Hikaru wanted to cry as he looked at his sister. Hearing that she blamed herself it reminded him of the conversation he had with their father in private. How their father had seen him as some parasite some corrupting force that had molested his sister, how he had been told that if he had ever had contact with her againtheir father would have proclaimed to the world that he had raped her.
He moved a hand over his eyes for a moment trying to hide the fact that he was crying, and looked to Kiyoko as she whispered that she loved him. "Aishteru!" He looked at his sister his eyes slightly red. "Not a moment has gone past where I haven't been thinking about you, hoping that you are safe, and wishing i could be by yourside. I miss you, all I want to know is where you are," (Hikaru has taken on some of her impulsive drive) RisaXSeph - Yesterday at 9:10 PM When he replied to her statement with the more serious, deep form of expressing love for her she stared for a moment again. Upon seeing his tears she noticed he did not want her to see him cry. She then spoke about what was on her mind. "Someone told me that the world will not accept us... That what we have is unique... It is unique but in a good way and it is ours... We shouldn't let anyone take that away... Please don't hide your feelings... I am on the DFS Lavie; we are heading to meet with the DFS Radius and DFS Phoenix. I think I can help you come here... If you do not care what father thinks..." kaligos - Yesterday at 9:21 PM "Fuck the world." Hikaru spoke a little harder than he had jintended it to be. He looked at Kiyoko pulling his hands away from his face even if he wanted to cower. He looked at her breathing softly and snifling, it was a little ugly that he was crying. he wasn't a cute cryer, there was Mucus and tears. He looked at his sister. Smiling softly. "Dad sent me out here to die, and every day i've survived has been one giant middle finger placed on his desk. I'm about ready to place another one. The only thing I care about is seeing you."
He breathed as he looked at her. His eyes were a hardened red. He had changed over hte last few months, but his sister was the same soft spot she had always been. "Tell me what I need to do, and no force on this planet could stop me from getting to you." RisaXSeph - Yesterday at 9:27 PM "I will need to talk to my squad leader; You've heard of Sakura Carain; the... sort of celeberty mech pilot who is cousins with the president... She's the squad leader here..." Kiyoko had changed too; she just went back to what she was before... Shy. He was literally the light of her world and without him she just couldn't be outgoing, couldn't even try to make friends. The only people she had spoke too were only becuase they tried to talk to her. Without Yikaru she didn't care to want to talk to anymore to protect herself from being hurt but yet with him she had some confidence even if it got her in bad situations and often cuased the both of them to literally tailspin. kaligos - Yesterday at 9:33 PM "The people here owe me some favours." He said nodding that everything would be claeared on his side. When he had first arrived here, it had been pretty obvious that this was a pit that he had been sent to die in. He had always been the one to act considerate, to be the level head, and the calm guiding force. Here he had put on the part of the cold commander, and found that it suited him well enough. Here he had to do things that weren't about to leave him anymore, but hearing that Kiyoko would be wiling to help him get back to her, that was enough to help him.
"and how have you been doing? Make any friends of your own, please, we keep talking about me, but this place it's hell, you finally got the posting you always wanted, tell me about it." RisaXSeph - Yesterday at 9:39 PM "even if it's the posting I wanted it's nothing without you." She said then continued shortly after. "I haven't really made many friends here as I've just gone back to being a shut in like I was before you. Like I told you before you're going only reason that I even bothered to try. You somehow make me whole." kaligos - Yesterday at 9:42 PM "Without you, there really isn't a point to all this fighting." He had really only kept himself alive for this conversation. He would have called on her eventually but he had been too busy, too stained red to make the call. Now that she was on the screen in front of him, all he wanted to do was to tell her that he would be coming soon. "I'll get back to you, I promise. I'm not down and out yet." RisaXSeph - Yesterday at 9:50 PM "well at least this way any sort of funny morbid way at least we can go die together..." she said sort of jokingly. kaligos - Yesterday at 9:52 PM Hikaru shook his head for a moment feeling cold, he didn't want to respond to that. He needed more happy thoughts lately. "I know we have our own mechs now, but do you think we could go back to a two person unit?' RisaXSeph - Yesterday at 9:56 PM "Father made me keep the Seeker; so yeah... Say... So this guy on the ship here offerred to cook, swap stories and stuff... He said he would teach me aobut robotics if I taught him piloting... Then he made a stupid comment about.... Well... Maybe it is not stupid... He said I should ask you how serious we want ot be here and... if... children..." The prospect of kids was still not a very good thought to her; she did not want them especially when her job was war. kaligos - Yesterday at 10:06 PM Hikaru sighed as he leaned back into his chair. The thought of Kiyoko being around other men actually frustrated him, and part of him wanted to stab the new-commer even though he didn't know the mans name. He shook his head for a moment clearing it of the jealous thoughts, and looked at his sister. "I said it before didn't I? That we should retire to some sun crusted beach. Grow old and bored together." It felt like a life time ago he had said those words. "As for kids. Kiyoko... our job is awful. I had too..."
He shuddered again his eyes falling away from her face as he felt like fleeing into the blanket. In the back of his mind he replayed a conversation with a deadman. please no, I have kids you've seen the photo's damn you. You can't do this to me! "Kid's don't stay safe out here. If the war is over I wouldn't mind being an uncle, or even a father, but out here? While we wear this uniform." It didn't feel possible. "Maybe it's a conversation for when we are face to face." (the implacation that he had to euthinize a traitor among his ranks) RisaXSeph - Yesterday at 10:11 PM Upon his reaction Kiyoko knew the look all too well. Thankfully fleeters were not so barbaric but still she had easily seen many an execution by a commander of a soldier whom had been openly a traitor. She considered if those folks had families; after all everyone came form somewhere. She knew Hikaru was serious about being with her... Their profession though was not for people who wanted kids; plus they were brother and sister... No telling how that would even turn out or if they could even have children together. "I see... Well; right now... no... Okay?" She seemed to have already made the decision. kaligos - Yesterday at 10:25 PM (i have to be up in the morning so i took my sleeping pill) RisaXSeph - Yesterday at 10:25 PM (want to pause or end; thier conversation is pretty much wrapping up but we could continue tomorrow night or something its up to you) kaligos - Yesterday at 10:26 PM (I agree it's wrapping up) (the main point is that the two will be rejoined soon enough) (give it like three days, both in game and out of game because that's when my day off is and so that's when i can start in the thread RisaXSeph - Yesterday at 10:28 PM (okay) "Well I am sure you have to get back to... trying to not be killed... and I have a patrol in swing shift so I should try to sleep... Thank you for talking to me... I actually might be able to sleep now." She said smiling. kaligos - Yesterday at 10:29 PM "Night sis, and hey... do me a favour, give your friend a call before you go to bed. I'd like to get out of this place... yesterday if possible." RisaXSeph - Yesterday at 10:30 PM "Oh; talk to Commander Carain... I'll go see if I can find her." Kiyoko said then said "see ya."
kaligos - Yesterday at 10:32 PM as the console turned off, his room was once again Dark. Hikaru got up, looking at the cold tasteless mush, the drab walls, and the fact that he could see his breath. Suddenly none of it seemed that bad, suddenly it didn't seem so awful. It was still a nightmare, but at least he would be off the ground soon enough. And back in his sisters sweet embrace.
(Going to edit this soon just posting it now so I dont forget)

kirin dragmawl August 24th 4566-morning DFS lavie-training hall
Kirin been pacing around his room thinking of what he can do as a civilian other than be a bartender at night. Paces around in his room for a couple hours thinking of what he could do for the morning he thinks about his training he done. Kirin pages aidan and yuka to see if they think that would be a decent idea for him to do with anyone that would like to learn swords or close combat.

Kiyoko Ino Sakura Carain AMC Field Operations Command Room; DFS Lavie August 24th 5466; Early Midday
Kiyoko and Hikaru’s conversation was stuck at the forefront of Kiyoko’s mind. She had emailed Sakura about meeting with her before her shift began. She agreed and so the two of them were in the AMC Office that was rarely used because Sakura had other duties to attend to and Yuka was in charge of the unit for a while even though she was the CO so she used her office. Kiyoko had sent a detailed email about her situation and that of her brother hoping that the rumors about her were true and that she would not immediately report her to her father making matters much worse for the two twins. Sakura spoke first. “So you and your brother were together I take it from the context of how you wrote the email?” Kiyoko wanted to roll her eyes at Sakura or make some kind of wise-ass remark but she didn’t she simply nodded. This was too important to just be shy or be her opinionated self. She had to hold her wanting to be an ass at the door as she really wanted her brother here; now. “Hum… Sounds sort of like the one off situation Hukari-chan and I had… It didn’t last long and we only did it once… That really means though that I can’t in good conscience judge you as icky for being all lovey dovey with your brother… So you say the only reason your dad assigned him to the front lines is that… he was with you… Eh I mean you two being together is ethically questionable but an Admiral assigning their child anywhere is also ethically questionable… The fact that he even manages your assignments at all is a conflict of interest… So all of your other stuff aside and after looking at your service record seeing that you seem to do better with your brother I guess I can talk to Jake on your behalf.” “Jake ma’am?” “Oh… The Chief of Staff” “Um… Seriously… Aren’t you going to like grill me or something; talk for hours… eh…” Kiyoko retorted Sakura smirked. “Nope… See I may work with a bunch of talking heads but at the end of the day where I really wanna be is shooting stuff… Kicking ass, taking names, with Cam… Misu or Josh… I’d rather not deal with bureaucracy if I don’t have to…” “And your related to… Nevermind…” “yes, Hukari is the same way actually… She only took the job of President because the politicians and Admirals are corrupt as fuck…” Kiyoko tilts her head but keeps her continued badgering of the girl to herself. She best not push her luck; thinking that more would be required was only what she expected because she was use to the military bureaucracy and fighting against her father’s assignments. Sakura stood then asked. “So did you need anything else?” “Um… who the hell wrote my duty assignment… 12 hour shifts basically--- Ignore that Commander.” Sakura chuckled. “We need more pilots; I hear ya… I’ll see if I can forcefeed Dale some shifts so you don’t have to do everything okay?” Kiyoko nodded; this was way too easy… Who was Sakura… For a famous, idol war veteran elite pilot she was actually not as much of a pompous ass as Kiyoko thought such a celebrity would be. Sakura then stood “So anything else; want something to drink?” “I’m good… thanks for being so easy to work with ma’am” “Easy to work with… Heh… Go talk to Yuka… The Captain is much nicer than I am but she’s still naïve… You and I have some of the longest combat experience on the ship except the XO and the acting CENG… Oh and Ross… The damn priest cant die…” “Priest… I thought having clergy as servicemembers died a long time ago…” “He is on loan to the Federation from the Catholic Enforcers… He has been for like 10 years or something so he is more like permanently part of the Federation… Poor guy… Been through like four captains.” Kiyoko blinks at Sakura whom shakes her hand then says “So since Dale is worthless and I’m too busy; we can’t very well let Defender roam around on his own and Lumi only pilots the Zeus in an emergency how would you like to be the Squad Leader and Division XO?” Kiyoko stares at her thinking she’s joking. Upon hearing nothing back Kiyoko just nods. “Good then… so now I have even less work to do… But considering I’m Second Officer and I basically an the CAG since Dom is on a fast track to “lets command our own starship”… Thanks for taking work off of me hun…” Sakura walks out of the room after handing her a pin. It was one she only had once before on the Arvonus. How in the shit did this just happened; was she really a Commander… She was so nonchalant about everything… Looks like Kiyoko had another crewmember to fangirl over.
Once Sakura left she went to her room leaving Kiyoko there by herself. She called Jake and explained to him the situation about Admiral Ino basically assigning his kids to wherever the fuck he felt like. Jake shrugged and they went back and forth basically wondering why the hell someone in Compliance or Ethics didn’t get involved. Jake then asked what Sakura wanted done about this; she suggested just sticking him back where he did best… With his twin… There was no mention of the relationship by Sakura as so long as the two did their job she was of the opinion it did not matter; just like Hukari with Yuka and Aidan. Jake also suggested he give the Admiral a good nice well worded letter of reprimand and a good kick in the teeth. Sakura simply nodded and their call concluded after they discussed bureaucracy of Hikaru’s reassignment.

Yuka Layton Aidan Thornton August 24th 4566
Yuka had come back to the room without telling anyone she was coming back because she had forgotten something. Upon arriving at the door she heard this rather loud... she couldn't tell if it was some sort of animal dying or if it was singing. Lumi appears "I think Aidan ate one of the dogs toys..." Yuka stared at Lumi "why do you think that?" "The attempt at vocalizing music is him." The two girls sort of stare at each other as Lumi automatically opens the door.
The two enter hearing the singing in full detail now.
Aidan in the shower...taking a long hot shower. Getting used to the longer time he could linger and relax. He tried to harmonize but song wasn't really in his range.Underneath your dream lit eyes Shades of sleep have driven you away.
The moon is pale outside And you are far from here.
Breathing shifts your careless head Untroubled by the chaos of our lives.
Another day, another night Has taken you again my dear.
risaxseph [12:40 AM] "... remind me to have Emily teach him how to actually sing..." Yuka said to Lumi. "I could teach him." "No." "But why not?" "you would probably teach him how to be even more bad than he already is... though I think Emily and I kind of have the market cornered on teaching him how to be bad." Lumi just grins requiring no further explanation. She then pushes Yuka toward the door automatically opening it. Being pushed with such force you can actually stumbles into the bathroom she looks back outside of the room and the holographic Lumi is gone.
"Grrr!" Yuka replied shaking her fist at the place that the holographic girl once was.
Aidan stopped singing once he noticed someone was in the room. "Hey baby, I thought you were gone." Leaving out the part where he didn't like to sing in public.
"since you've been gone I can breathe for the first time" she said mocking the song "is that what you were meaning to say dear" she said to him winking as she was basically insulting her self for comedic affect.
"Keep it up short round. I'll drag you in here." Aidan rebuked her.
"oh so you want to drag a girl into the shower fully closed during her admin time do you... paperwork could wait but someone might start thinking you're a bad boy if you do that... or do you want me to continue to insult myself with various musical notes. Maybe you should've picked a different song because Lumiere seemed to think you were dying animal or that you ate a chew toy..." she said poking fun
"Which is why I don't sing with people around."
"not that I thought anything like that... i'd never be so mean... see your voice is nice you just need training and to find the right music you know...just like I couldn't really sing a deep male part..." Yuka to further annoy him changed her hair color to that of his previous wife, same with her eye color and clothes.
'just makes me think of you. Us....whatever" Aidan said, trailing off while he finished the shower. He grabbed a towel and started to dry off.
"Only thing I can't do is pull off Carol's age..."
"Pushing your luck around a man on virility drugs can have interesting consequences."
"oh... Is that so... Take your best "shot" then" she said in a teasing manner. She also did not look much like Carol due to the fact that she is half Asian.
Yuka started coming close to him trying to look all intimidating but it was easily seen through and she intended for that.
"You like sleeping with other girls just like I like sleeping with other boys." She said in a voice trying to imitate his ex-wife though she might be taking this a bit far.
Aidan gave her the look. His smile disappeared. "Knock it off, now."
Yuka stopped and changed back to normal. "Sorry."
"Is there a reason for this punishment, or are you just in general pain in the ass mode?"
"... I was trying to be funny... I guess it took a little too seriously... I shouldn't of said that.." she said. She wanted him to roughly take her on the bed; she hadn't decided if she wanted that to be sex or just playing because they hadn't played in a while and most of their things like that usually ended in sex. She wanted to make things as realistic as possible as far as setting him off but she went a little too far because she wanted to just get to that line where it was still fun and games but there was a little more force to it.
Walking over to the closet, Aidan slipped on jeans and grabbed a t-shirt. Inside he started to grab other items. "Not really in the mood for shenanigans apparently. "
"... I'm sorry..." she said again doing one of those formal bows. "Please forgive me. I only wanted to play."
He hated it when she bowed. Something she grew up doing, It just seemed odd to him. He turned and grabbed her in a bear hug. "Now what are you going to do.?"
As he picked her up from a bow and held her against him into a hug. "... Thanks..." she said apologetically then continued "pow!" As she attempted to fake hit. There was a extreme delay between the audible exclamation and the fake action.
"That's a punishable offense. striking a fellow officer." Aidan said.
"Oh it's punishable... then punish me dear knight." She said teasing him
"Nope. I get to pick the time, place, and style of the punishment. You'd enjoy it too much if I punished you the usual way." Aidan commented.
"Tie me up... cause you know you've always wanted to restrain me..." she said
He let her go slowly. "Nope. Time and place of my choosing. This isn't it. Sweat it out and wonder when the attack will come." (edited)
"... You're mean..." Yuka said a little less playfully. "At least tell me something..."
"I'll tie you to my desk chair you know." She taunted
"Dream on my love. There will be instructions. Just not the ones you're expecting. And for the record, you enjoy mean. Sometimes I think I'm not mean enough when we role play. Tell me I am wrong." Aidan said.
"I like the teasing and I actually wanted you to grab my hands and be rough with me..."
"I know that.....but to you that's enjoyment. So today at least, I am changing the rules." He grabbed her tightly around the waist, so tight she felt his growing interest in her. He saw the glazed look in her eyes as he did so. Using his other hand, he reached up to the base of her neck and grabbed a handful of hair, as he forced her head up slightly to look him in the eyes. His grip was firm, but just firm enough to not be painful. Growling at her, leaning in and kissed her hard, the hand around her waist moved down and playfully tortured a cheek with his firm grip. "This time, you do me. Take me and show me just how much you want me deep inside you, now dammit." (edited)
Yuka glanced at him putting her hands on his sides. "You know there are other than sex my love or are you just doing the same thing to me I am doing to you... being a big irresistible tease?" She asked grinning at the end.
"It's a horrible job, but someone has to do it. Besides, I could always dress up as RINZ since you wanted to be Carol."
"...er... Well... you see..." She would still enjoy him if he came around even though she was put off by him not loving her as she loved him. She didn't want a relationship though but friendship would be nice. She would not further explain herself though as Aidan likely understood even if his relationship with Carol was different because she did cheat on him multiple times. Was Yuka different though; sure Emily was more of an exception to the rule at this point but she wondered if what she did was just as mean if not worse... Even if it was a pre-existing relationship. She decided not to speak any about that though as opening up old wounds would damage progress. "So much tease... bed... snuggles... now..." Was her only response taking his hand she dragged him over.
Aidan wasn't one to argue. He followed Yuka to the bed.
Once she took him to the bed she pushed him down to the bed. "Good boy... Now for cuddles" She said in a demanding voice as she got on top of him holding him closely straddling him but in a non-sexual manner.
He went with it. It was hard, no pun intended, not to be aroused by her. She was at once intoxicating and vulnerable. Sometimes infuriating too, but Aidan learned long ago that marriage was sometime a combination of love and frustration.
She looked into his eyes innocently. "Yuka-chan is happy!" She said referring to herself in the third person then she said. "So I have gotten what I came for... Now then... You wanna talk or... are you pervy for me....."
"If I'm not pervy for you....check my pulse, but talking is fine." Aidan offered. He reached out and pushed her hair back and stroked her cheek. (edited)
"Such a fun boy ey?" she said as she crossed his face. "So what are your thoughts about this upcoming mission
'I want to make a hollowpoint bullet with a black gem in the tip and see if we can't make Jim look Eastern Indian while he assumes room temperature." He paused as he kissed her hand. "in other words, I hate it. But we have to try as we can't just lock him up forever. He breaks out, there would be hell to pay."
"Well then there is after that; the whole FSF battle... How should we handle that; I was thinking if it is something we can do with teams sending down multiple; more hands down on the planet could be useful... If its space... We should rely on a combination of our mechs and fighters." Yuka offered.
Aidan had already been thinking about that problem. "We hit them like they hit us. Ambushes. Find out some vulnerable resources, capture or destroy. We need more ships. as good as the Lavie is, she will never be enough. The Russians have a great saying. Quantity has a quality all it's own. We are one ship and cannot fight this war alone. Makes my blood boil when I think about it. We should have a damned task-force."
"I believe command is sending support with Jim so.. there is that."
"Wanna bet?" Aidan offered.
"What do you mean?" Yuka asked.
"A true task-force to me would be about ten ships. A couple of escorts, two frigates, two destroyers, a couple of heavy cruisers and us. Minimum. Something larger than what they threw at us. Five ships came at us. FIVE." He threw up his hand with all the fingers and thumb extended for accent.
"I know that; I was there... You don't have to remind me; I just was not clear what you meant. So... We also need to talk about; so I got a transfer request from Misaki... We need her and Ari... but... any ideas how to make her stay?
"I wasn't trying to bite your head off, it just bugs me when I think about it." Aidan said. He was thoughtful on the next part when he said, "I'd hate to lose any of them really. Seph is a damn platoon on her own. Misaki.....I'd hate cut her loose until Jim was settled, but after that?" He was quiet, the said, "I don' t like to dangle carrots, but we are going into FSF space. They never did find Misaki's old ship."
"Misaki's ship was destroyed from what the reports say but nothing was found outside of that."
'Hence my point. She's one that would want concrete proof one way or the other. I get that." Aidan replied.
"Well her hubby was on that ship; think of it I disappeared... You would literally go out in search on your own if you had to"
'You know me too well." he nudged her."
"So what have you thought so far about the Sakura and Lumi thing; which should take the SO spot permanently?"
"Sakura has more experience and a better grip on humanoid interactions. Lumi has her own skillset, impressive but she misses the mark sometimes. Hard part is, how do we get Lumi that experience....." Aidan trailed off. I
It's a good question. Lumi will always have something about her; she is basically a kid... Even more than I am..." Yuka sauid.
"I think she'll get there. She needs time. So Sakura." Aidan said.
"Okay; Sakura it is then... Now what are your plans with Em and me?"
"Now that's switching gears for ya. In what sense. I feel as though I am the one along for the ride sometimes." Aidan said.
"Em and I talk, we kissed on the cheek. So far it hasn't gone any further. I am the consummate gentleman when it comes to that. I have to have permission. No forcing myself on a woman until she gives the green light, then all bets are off."
"She seems the same about you though... It makes it really odd for me..."
"cause I feel like you two are only doing this for me"
"Well, we are and we aren't if you want the truth. It started out that way, but the more we talk, the more we have in common and she's more interesting that I would have thought.
Yuka thought about what Aidan said; it was good he found Emily interesting and found common things they like. This was not just about her anymore and that made Yuka feel better overall about things. She kept thinking they were only doing this for her and so being reassured that it was not just only for her that they tried to be with each other was helpful to her. She then had a thought. "Say... it is early still... I got what I needed to done and since my bridge shift was shorter today... Lets go do something that does not involve the bed for once?" She said looking at him as she walked her fingers up his chest while talking.
"We did the shower too." He quipped, bracing for the impact. "What did you have in mind?"
"Chair, couch, standing, bed, shower... I still wanna do that water thing we talked about... With all the drama I caused I completely forgot about it..." She said taking a stab at herself. She then replied to his question "We could go and just use the holodeck... Go have fun or something... We are a long way from Earth and the last time we tried to go dancing we almost got robbed, I got all uppity and it turned into sex in my apartment... We don't dance enough..." She said the last part with puppy-dog eyes and in sort of a whiny tone.
"Standing up at least. Fine. I guess we are in a rut....those the most fun rut I've had the pleasure to experience. I did ask you to do me. Show me the sights." Aidan offered.
"Well... We COULD do that later if you really do want to insist but right now I wanna go have other fun.. ya know... There is more to life than sex, work and drama.... like video games, dogs, music, silly stupid events that your school, academy or training facility put on to try to act cool but everyone really knows its all really a joke, um... food... dancing... anime... Obviously not in that order!" She said standing up and blushing as she starts getting sort of nerdy. "Anyway..." She takes his hand as she stands and attempts to pull him out of the bed to no avail.
Aidan sighed heavily. "Fine...let me get dressed." He let her assist him to the upright position. He changed into a pair of light brown faded jeans, a short sleeve pocket tee-shirt. Grabbing socks and sneakers he opened the gun safe and was reaching for the service pistol, but changed his mind. He selected an ancient revolver. Only 5 shots, but it was amazingly light, though the recoil was a nightmare. Slipping that into his pocket along with a folding pocket knife, Aidan dabbed a cologne on each inside wrist. "Ready when you are."
Yuka saw the revolver and his sigh along with his general distaste for seemingly wanting to leave at least as she precised it and burst into laughter. She then said in a sort of girlish tone. "Your so adorable when your acting all perturbed!" She then got a little more serious "We don't have to go if you don't want too you know..."
"If I didn't want to go, I would just pulled you on top of me. Besides, you can't be a pain in the ass ALL the time, though you sure try.Maybe I think it's my turn" He quipped.
"... So I'm confused... this is me being a pain in the ass?" She asked trying to understand if he meant this was a good thing or if her girly "I wanna play!" was too youthful for him.
"Nope. My turn." He grinned.
"Your turn to be a pain in the ass..." She covered her mouth with her index finder and began tapping her lips seemingly trying to process that. "Um... Okay... whatever I guess..." She said taking his hand after grabbing her purse and her clothes changed in to a dress; the one he liked and some boots that looked cute on her; they were black leather and sort of complemented the white dress.
She then walked the two of them out the door heading for the holodeck.
"Why can't I be difficult sometimes. You should have all the fun and no frustration?" He asked.
"Eh... No... no... that is not what I mean at all... its just not typical is all.."
"So....where are you taking us?"
"We did Paris last time... I'm thinking a US city... any preference?"
"Ladies choice, since I am not a city boy."
"Okay... Something a little closer to home for me then... pre-stupid people... so a 2005 Portland, Oregon One of the nicer districts... Cause downtown is all hype and homeless people...""
She said the last bit in a derogatory tone.
"At least it will be interesting."
"Unless you like graffiti and panhandling with safetys off?" She said poking at him seemingly
"Um...no. Something a bit lower key I think is in order."
"Get into a fight with some crazies..." She said sarcastically. "Okay..." She grinned "Seattle pre-all the smog, dirt and emptiness?"
"I'll just let the computer choose since I'm just poking fun..."
"Maybe I should go back for my sword?" Aidan countered.
"Oh don't worry I have my tazer, water and fire gems on me in my purse... imagine the look on some asshats face when I char his skull... Oh... I'm being so horrible right now..."
"and just why do we want to do this again?"
"I wanted to dance, run the town and be all coupley with you... but talking about violence... I'm not doing very good at this cutesy stuff am I... Maybe I should just shut my mouth." As she finishes the computer says San Francisco CA. "Eh... I think the computer really does want us to die."
"Why would you say that?"
"I've never been there and the stories I hear at night there... are less than pleasurable..."
tugar
"You're the expert. Lead on."
"I'm the- but I just said- oh whatever..." She accepts the computer's suggestion and then the doors open to a boardwalk next to a beach. It was sunny; midday but not too horribly hot; for Cali at least. On this boardwalk were a bunch of businesses and people playing on the beach.
"Computer, sunglasses for two." Aidan said. They appear in his pocket and he handed a pair to her.
Yuka put them on. She had a thought to pull out her cane in an unfamilar place but then she remembered she could see fully and such an action would be meaningless. (Yes she still has her white cane. shes just not needed it... plus in the future I am sure nobody even knows what a white folding cane is lol)
"You want to choose someplace else?" Aidan asked seeing her tense body language.
"Oh... no... its fine... I just.. I've never been to anywhere in California before... Even for my training they sent me to Memorial Center not SF... So it is just a little new is all..."
Yuka continued to look around the beach and at the shops a little intimidated by San Fransico. A roving salesmen who sold ice cream offered the two of them some for free; saying something about a daughter should have fun with her father. That made Yuka want to punch someone (he is like 15 years older than her)
"Tell the nice man thank you or I'll spank you." Aidan quipped.
"Fuck off!" She yelled at Aidan then turned her attention to the vendor. "He's my fiancee..." "Oh... I do apologize..." The man then left wanting to not offend a pretty lady any further. Yuka glared at Aidan. "Bad boy..." She slapped him on the ass slightly just to get a reaction. "Between you and these damned new emails." She mumbled as a second new email notification appeared on her VX. He was right about one thing; he was being a pain in the ass right now though he did say he would be.
"Maybe it's time for some rejuvenation procedures....can't look like your father when I walk down the aisle with you and Emily."
"Well... Maybe you should; even if you get a baby face you'll still look like a hardass marine... That would actually make you more sexy though... I like you the way you are... I don't have to compete with the rest of the ship; competing with Lumi was enough for me and since Emily belongs to me I don't really have to compete with her... We both get to destroy your world together. I don't really have to compete with Lumi either since you made a friend for her... How is that going anyway; heard anything?" Yuka asked as she walked down the boardwalk with him hand in hand. The sun was nice and it was warm but not too warm. She was glad the dress was breathable though. (
"I'd like to think it's going well. No news is good news in this case. If it went poorly, I would hope she'd ask for advice. I have heard of him around the ship a little but haven't met him in person.." Aidan added. "Great, now I have to pick out a whole new face. "
"Hey; I did say you were fine how you were... Oh... So what are our plans for marriage anyway... Have you spoke with your family... I know htey know about me cause I talked to them but... Em... Well that might get confusing..."
"I've been mulling that over. I guess it really depends on how big a wedding you and Emily want."
"I'm fine with anything... You know I just ran to a station and did the civil partnership paperwork at the records office... So if I am that low key anything would be fine by me... Though those dresses are pretty and all I don't think a traditional wedding is something that... Well... I'm a different sort of girl... Your Indian heritage stuff seems cool though." yuka said after getting a third email and then a fourth. The finally relents and checks the emails. One from Kirin she just replied to, the second is about a crew transfer... Directly from the Director of AMC... Why was he sending an email; reassigning someone to the Lavie while they were this far out. She thought then decided to mention it after she dealt with the others. The next was Jake informing them of Dom's transfer to the DFS Phoenix... IMMEDIATELY. They would be sending a charter shuttle to pick him up and gate him all the way back to Earth. The gate systems were a rare use for them. THe Lavie got to use it more than most ships but still. Must be important to call him all the way back from here. The final email was something about meeting with the Radius... The meeting point was changed. Why did they not just send that to the bridge... Yuka sighed "Work, work... work... WORK WORK!!!! Fuck it..." Yuka looked at Aidan "Kirin wants to train some of the crew... I told him that was okay... Second we are getting a new pilot... Jake is taking Dom from us... And our meeting cords have changed... Stupid email..."
"here I want to spend time with you that isn't sex or cooking and well the world decides to say "HAI DER... HERE IST MOAR WORK YUKA-CHAN!"" She said the quote in a rather odd voice trying to sound like some deranged man
"Anything that you need to attend to now, or all shit that your yeoman should handle. You need one." Aidan responded.
"Yeah... I do need an assistant..."
"I replied to Kirin... Do you think letting him do it is okay; I think its fine so long as he does not go all magic boy... then we just pull a Jim on him..."
"The transfers... We get a new pilot and Dom leaves... Eh... I feel like we will have to do something involving that but not right now... The change... forwarding emails to OPS so THEY can deal with it..."
Then it needs to be a frank discussion on "You can never use your powers here again. If you do, you will be either dead or imprisoned. The risk of having that much power with the little control you do have, is unacceptable. If these restrictions do not sit well, we can provide you a suitable out somewhere off ship."
"I feel like eventually we might need him to use his powers again but IF that ever does happen he MUST be able to control them... I'm not handing a baby a machine gun..."
"If he cant agree to not use them until hes actually trained though; yeah we need to just drop him somewhere..."
"Who could train him?" Aidan asked.
"... That is a good question... Maybe we could ask the EU guys... After all super powerful Q-God beings should be able to control their powers shouldn't they... With the exception of Ji-psychopath."
Yuka sighs again "We go on a date for once and it becomes talk of work..."
He slipped his arm in hers. He could smell the simulated salt air and felt the breeze. "Reminds me of the night we spend watching the waves come in."
"I liked that a lot; the night sky... the cool air... You... and then the sunrise..." That memory seemed to brighten her day.
"Computer change the time to night... Slight breeze a little bit before sunrise..."
Most of the people disappear; a slight chill comes to the air but not enough to feel too cold, the sky changes to a clear night with the moon in the sky as the calm waves of the tide splash against the beach.
Most of the businesses are closed now except a bar and one all hours diner, then a all hours convenience store. Benches are empty. (edited)
"Aidan spotted something. Come on." He pulled her in the direction he wanted and rounded a corner. Wooden lounge chairs were set up facing the water. "Computer two beach towels for the chairs, and a six pack of Warsteiner bottles with opener." The cloth was easier on the bones. He led Yuka to one and cracked her a cold beer, getting one for himself. "To the rare cherished moments of downtime." He clinked her bottle.
Once he pulled her over to the chairs and then they were covered she took a seat and accepted the beer from him. She wasn't too much of a beer girl but she always made exceptions for him. She toasted with him and then took a drink as she watched the moon moving about ever-so-slightly... Even the small clouds in the clear sky moved. These were things in nature that unless you were looking for them you would never find them; the beauty of the world. She let out a deep calming sort of sigh letting her frustrations out with it.
"Assuming we get a honeymoon, got a preference for location? Aidan asked
"No idea... I mean people would consider me well traveled since I lived in Europe for boarding school and my first crack at uni but I hardly left my apartment for things but school and my event work for the school... I was a loner for a long time... I basically had a handful of friends in high school, like two or three in college and then I ended up here... You know the rest... It sort of confuses me how I ended up a mech pilot and a starship captain... I was just that girl in student council whom talked with people cause she had too... I mean don't get me wrong I wanted friends but people in general are just stupid or snobbish or wont listen... I dont want any part in those things... That sort of makes me a snob too I guess in a way... Then there is you, RINZ and Jeane... I think you three made me more outgoing... or Maybe it was just my situation... Now I wanna do music just like Em does... who knew I'd like the idea of a band..." She chuckled lightly at the end of her monologue.
"Then I can sing and drive the crowd away at the end."
"no." She said condescendingly. as she took a pull from her beer; a rather large one at that.
"No, I can't sing, or no they'll still be around?"
"No singing for you... You could be the muscle though... Everybody would be all like "Dude" The girls would be all falling fo ryou; the guys and girls who are into girls would be all up in arms for Em and me... Yeah... You don't even need to talk..." She said winking at him staring into his eyes as she spoke. She found this fun; they should do this sort of thing more open.
"I'm sure the President would help you book a gig. Start a fanclub"
"Oh yeah; get Sakura on keyboard or something and have her do vocals or something... I mean come on having a President who is a pop idol and a bunch of soldiers in a band... I'm sorry but this just sounds silly even though its kind of cute and fun... Well I guess such a thing could work... Just sounds silly is all but sometimes you know morale boosts and all... Put the prez and your CO in some skimpy clothes and get them to sing for you heh... Sex sells.." She said.
"Someone tries to buy you, I'm punching them out."
"Do it... After all the whole you can look but you cant touch... I'd like to see you break some dudes arm!"

Kiyoko Ino Hikaru ino August 24th 4566
Hikaru had felt relief when the transfer orders had come in. Though his ride out of the hell hole that he had been put in was less than comfortable. The mech he had been assigned had to be left aside as it was still in repairs, and so he was crammed into a small one manned shuttle craft, and basically had to pray for his own escape.
Once that harrowing experiance was over it had been three days to actually meet up with the Lavi, and another two agaonizing hours of docking proceeduresd.
Finally he walked out of the ship, and onto the capital ship. He was bundled up still keeping the winter uniform, he still felt cold even though his ship had been much warmer as he got to set the tempature. Stepping out onto the capital ship it was also warm, but he was freezing to the touch.
Time on an alien world seemed to have adapted him in some odd way, something he would figure out later, or visit sick bay for. For now he was free, and just had to meet whoever was going to greet him. Part of him hoped Kiyoko, but since the orders had come from her friend, Sakura, it could have been her too.
Upon Hikaru arriving on the Lavie a cute yet well endowed brown haired girl was standing there. She waved at him. "Hello there Lt. Ino I assume... I'm Lumiere Trouve. I am the ships administrative officer and still sort of the ship's AI. Commander Carain is in a meeting and your sister is on patrol... Oh you wonder how I know all this... I'm preceptive..." She said with a grin. "Anyway; your transfer papers?"
Hikaru sighed slightly disapointed that his sister wasn't actually here to greet him. At the same time this was the same ship that she was on, he had actually arrived. As for the woman who was here to greet him he was slightly confused, why did the AI have a body? "Oh right my papers."
He pulled out his commlink and pulled up the screen show her. "Everything has been arranged as far as I know."
Lumi looks it over and nods. "Okay... so your sister's patrol ends soon... usually we would go through a tour and assign you quarters but you already have orders be assigned and this will probably just make things easier..." she sent him a message with a tour of the ship.
"I already have quarters?" He hadn't expected that. Looking over the tour of the ship this place was emmence and frankly too big. Even though he had just been serving on an entire planet this ship with all the areas that could walk around actually made his head hurt. "I'd rather not just stand around and wait for her. As much as I want to see her, I haven't had more than 20 feet to walk around for about three days. Maybe you could give me the tour, and Kiyoko can catch up once her assignment is done."
"He He... well you see I wanna go spend time with my boyfriend... I guess..." As she was talking and alarm went off but it did not apply to the shuttle bay. However a voice did come over the flight control speakers. "attention all flight deck personnel... landing procedures have been initiated incoming Unit in the Mech bay." Lumi said "I could take you to the Mechbay... and guess what it's all the way on the other end of the ship so you get to walk anyway..."(edited)
That was cryptic, still he got his wish to walk. Turning he simply gestured for this AI to lead the way. Again he was curious as to how an AI had a boyfriend, but at the same time he didn't really care. So as they walked he was in silence, not really diving into any conversation unless she asked him a question. His mind kept wondering over the last few months, his time away from Kiyoko and what he was going to say to her once the two of them were reunited.
Lumi hoped he would talk but he didn't so she didn't talk. The two of them eventually arrive at a lift and it takes the two of them up. They were still silent. Eventually she speaks "so... any questions?"
"Where are we going?" Hikaru said finally. He didn't exactly mean the mechbay as she had already mentioned that. "The current mission that we are being deployed too, where are we headed?"
"we are going to pick up Jim Olend and then take him to trial. After that we're going to go start to prepare for battle against FSF."
Hikaru nodded not knowing who that was. His time on the front lines hadn't really involved politics aside from a hatred of his dad. A dad that was probably fuming right now, that thought was pretty pleasant. the other plesant thouhgt came from the arrival at the mech bay, and a very familiar mech going through final docking. She really had managed to keep that thing. His eye twtched slightly in both aleviation and at the same time complete and total frustration as he was going to be put back inside that thing. The smallest most cramped space that he could have invisioned.
Gods he was looking forward too it. "I think you can leave to be with your boyfriend, I'll be fine waiting here. Arigato gozaimashita."
7
"Thanks... and you're very welcome. By the way if you wonder what the hell is up with me... One of the old chief engineers and gave me a body in exchange for helping him. I quite like being a person actually... Oh... good like with her by the way." She said turning away. "well hopefully we'll meet again at some point... i'm sure we will because I pilot the Zeus... so yeah we'll see each other again... bye bye cutie..." Lumi said in a rather unprofessional manner then she sort of skipped off out the door as the hatch opened and Kiyoko stepped out of the Mech taking off her helmet letting her hair flow out in the air. She then took the lift down from the catwalk floating above the bay. As she was lowering down she stared at him and gave him a nonchalant wave. "Hey brother."
Did that AI just call him cute? She was rather well endowed, but didn't she say that she had a boyfriend? He hadn't gotten any flirtatious vibes from her, then again if he could pull her into the bed with Kiyoko he wouldn't exactly say no to that kind of experiance, or any experiance really so long as his sister enjoyed it. Speaking of which he turned towards her. His eyes taking her in with a sharp almost glare as he examined her. He walked towards her, feeling rather stiff. "Hey brother? you haven't seen heads or tail from me in months and you start off with hey brother?" He tried to make his tone sound more stern, but it didn't take long for his face to break when he was close to her. Dropping all pretenses he grabbed Kiyoko by the hand and pulled her against him forcing his lips to hers much as she had done months ago in their first kiss. As he pulled her into a kiss she just looked at him trying to play hard to get and was about to say something but decided she would hold that for later and decided to kiss him back. She then steers him toward the door. "... in front of the flight crew you really want that... not like it's an issue between us but everyone else..." she laughed lightly
Once they were close to the door and it opened itself and she pushed him out the door going with him then once the door closed when they were outside she pushed him against the wall and introduced her tongue into a kiss.
"and yes I said hey brother... you got a problem with that?" She said if she smirked and then she continued "welcome home by the way"
"Our entire conversation got kicked off because someone thought I didn't love you, I'd figgure i'd just show the entire ship really. Less problems that way in the long run." He was pretty sure that the higher ups already knew the relationship between the two of them was a thing. Their careers and everything else had been put on hold because of it. They had been broken up as a team due to unbecomming conduct, and the truth was anyone could look into their record and see who filed that and why.
There was no keeping their taboo nature a secret on this ship, and on the bright side they were once again together. He was once again holding onto his big sister. "Glad to be home." He said brushing his hand along her cheek for a moment. "Though seriously where are my quarters, the AI was super wierd about that, and I am in desperate need of the longest hottest bath this side of the fucking universe."(edited)
"Next to mine..." Kiyoko said. "So... let's catch up..."
That was wonderful, Hikaru could be more than happy with that. "Yeah, where do we want to start, the fact that dad is probably pulling out his hair, or what you have been up too for the last few months?" "Was yelled at a lot then assigned nowhere for a bit and finally they had me assigned here... They being our wonderful sperm-giver..."
Hikaru gave a slight gag at her wording as he walked around the quarters that he was probably gonna end up spending all his time in. "I mean i heard my earful too, it's funny I kinda got the impression that he was jealous. I mean when faced with you who wouldn't be."
"Jealous... like he wanted me... the fuck... now that's sick... eh... I guess it was a good thing that he was never home when we were kids..." she said once she walked them to his quarters. The two of them entered the room and then he started walking around the room. She just took a seat on his couch.
"mother would murder him if she knew."
"i mean he accused me of raping you, and corrupting the innocense. You don't pull those lines unless you got some serious issues." When he saw her sit down he stayed standing, choosing to lean against the wall or pace. "Sorry I've been forced into a cramped space for like days, and this place is so much bigger than our usual hole in the wall. I have to stay standing."
"Mother... I never even paused to think how she would feel about this, I dobt she would be for it. She may have been the cool parent, but this is kind of outside the scope of regular parental duties. She wouldn't be happy at him though if she knew that dad tried to have us killed."
"... Well... yeah... so is there anything you want to do? You said that you have been in such a small place for such a long time and pretty much you've only been in battle for awhile so you probably haven't done a lot..." she said cupping her hands together as she was leaning against her knees
"If you mean do i want to have sex, I could be intised, but in all honesty what I want most of all is a bath, and to have you join me in said bath, but, alas military seems to hate tubs unless there is one on this stupid map i'm not seeing. Maybe in the vip quarters? anyone got keys to them?"
She laughed loudly when he suggested sex. "I meant like going out and doing something not pounding me into the ground... though that could be interesting... as far as bath tubs on these, that ships really the only people who have baths are the senior staff. It is a drag; though with what this ship is it is likely that they might be able to give a bath to you. I think the VIP quarters have them to though..." she said. She could be persuaded but it seems kind of weird that the first thing is "let's bang" "Not right now." It actually kind of hurt to say those words, it wasn't just that it was rather sudden and not that he couldn't be drawn towards the bed, it was that right now there was a lot more to get through. "Give me the tour. This is where I'm sleeping tonight so we have a chance to adjust, but tell me about the vessle show me around. Do you have any friends that you can introduce me too yet?"
"... I have met a couple people but I don't really know if it's friendships yet. As far as a tour I really haven't done a whole lot as far as exploring the shit. I know a couple places but that's really it. I didn't mean to offend you by saying I didn't want to do something... I'd be willing just... seems kind of want to like see each other for 20 minutes and then immediately you know... It could be good... I dono."
Hikaru shrugged. "No it's my fault for reading into it after that pervy robot... she can't hear us can she?" He actually turned his head to check the corners in the room. "Well she kind of threw me off for a moment. But the truth is I don't really want to jump into the sack right away either. We have all night for that. I more just kind of need to walk. I'm to wrestless."
He let out a long sigh for a moment as he walked around the room before resting a hand on Kiyoko's shoulder. "Sorry I don't think I'm really great with this relationship stuff." Neither of them were in all honesty.
"she's not a robot she's actually a person. She was given a human body and she's no longer connected to the ship unless she basically "plugs in"... so yeah she's a real girl..." Kiyoko said jokingly. " So do you want to go for a walk? So I will soon I don't think you are being unreasonable or that you're not doing a good job... your good don't take things to heart..." she said petting him on the shoulder
"A walk sounds lovely." Hikaru said with a soft sigh. He had been so used to being distant to others, and yet he didn't really want that to happen with Kiyoko, she was too important to him. He held out his hand offering it to her so that she could walk with him. "Wait so they built her a body, and now she has a boy friend and flirts with people?"
He blinked for a moment, how did that work, he had so many questions. Though he supposed none of them mattered. He wasn't paid to be an engineer. "Did you hear anything from... him when I transfered here? I know he knows, but... I haven't heard anything from him." He didn't think he needed to clarify who he was, as if saying their dads name would somehow summon him here in a puff of smoke and fire.
"The sperm-giver has not contacted me." Kiyoko said referring to their father. She then thought about Lumi. "She was a machine but now she's actually human; and yeah... basically from my understanding it's like our brain is just energy waves and data... so in her cause they just converted it to bio energy or something... I wasn't here so I'm just saying what I read... she sure as hell doesn't seem any different from a person... only thing that's different is she can interface with computers through a sort of chip in her neck... though even certain technicians can do that... i've even heard of Prototype situations where they've put those in pilots and allow them to pilot their machine with their mind." Kiyoko said while taking him for a walk down the hall just sort of pointing things out as they walked by. She was also continuing to carry on a conversation and would take them to a lift then take them down the deck and show him places that she knew about.
"why don't you ask her these questions?" She posed.
"Because while her body and story is interesting... I want to spend time with you, and talk with you. I just don't know what we are supposed to talk about. My duties don't start till tomorrow, and I have no idea how to talk to any of these people. I'm here Onee chan, because you're here and while other women may be interesting I only really have eyes for you." As if to try and be playful he put his hand along her hair and brushed her.
They were once again a team, but he was worried that their time apart had put them out of synch, it was harder to find something to talk about. The physical affection was still there as marked by holding hands as they walked, but it was so much more difficult than the days they spent in the outer rim. Eventually as they walked his stomach made a growl and a new objective came up in his mind. "I also haven't eaten in a long time."(edited)
"Lumiere is interesting but yeah... She has love already... As for the crew... just be yourself as there are some pretty interesting people here that have even managed to accept me for who I am..." Kiyoko noticed something was off about him... He had stopped seemingly off in thought. She wondered if something was on his mind but didn't know how to approach it. She hopes that she had not done something or that something had not damaged him so much that they couldn't be as attached as they were. That was her biggest worry... they continue to walk in an awkward silence and then he mentioned that he wanted to get food. Kiyoko feeling awkward didn't say anything only change directions to add to the mess hall. She was starting to feel shy and that never happened around him.
Hikaru hadn't seen his sister nervious or quiet in many years, she had always been the more verbal and agressive of the two ever since they had joined the military. Seeing her like this was more akin to their early life. He walked with her, and knew almost immediately that she was leading him towards a general messhall, which was kind of sad, after all this time he had kind of hoped that he would be tasting some of her cooking. Their time apart had clearly been stressful on her, as she was now less talkative, though she had found an accepting post. Holding his sisters hand a little tighter he sighed, his posting was behind him, he didn't have to look over his shoulder or think about the things he did during his time on that hell hole anymore. Kiyoko was worried, that was what mattered to him now.
"Kiyoko-Nee chan, you should take some of your own advice. You keep saying to act like yourself, but you haven't teased me once since I got here. Lets stop talking about other people. I need to focus on my dear sister who seems to be spacing out on me again." He knew that he was the one spacing out, and causing problems, but at the same time he couldn't admit that. "Geez for someone a second older and wiser, you'd think you would have more of the answers, what's with this giving your younger brother a worried expression."
"I'm sorry brother... You going off to "die"... I am acting like myself... and i'm not spacing out..." She rolled her eyes for a moment and then when he mentioned the thing she always did about being older. "You are okay though... Really that is all that matters..."
"It's all behind us, I admit I was scared. I thought for sure that after what... the sperm giver had said that I would never see you again. I can't tell you how good it was to hear your voice when you called me. I'm back now." He gave a sigh as he held her close. "And you are too spacing out, where is my invincible spitfire."
"I thought with how far away he threw you I would never see you again either... It was only after talking with a friend that I even considered it... He sort of pushed on me to see how you felt... and I stormed off on him... I still have not apologized for running out on him like that." Kiyoko said to her brother. "I'm not spacing out either... Things change, people change... Your first duty shift in the morning you'll be piloting the Seeker alone... I have to welcome new crew... All other senior officers are busy... Such a boring job... I don't want to talk to people.." Kiyoko added almost whining at the end there.
Yuka glanced over at Aidan after making her comment egging him on about beating people up if they tried to buy her sex. She then said. "I wish you could just bottle up the beach though you can't really just throw the experience in a bottle... This is nice... Is what I am trying to say... We should bring Em here."
"We can have an outing or three....there are a few places I have saving in memory. It is an experience. Em should like it." Aidan offered.
"Yeah... so are you hungry for lunch? Even though we never really asked the kitchen staff to do anything I'm pretty sure we could have the chef cook something up for us... it is where we have someone else do our cooking for us." She said grinning.
Aidan deadpanned, "That's a thing now? We can get people to do stuff for us?"
It wouldn't have been the first time that he had to pilot the seeker alone, the thing was their home away from home, but at the same time that was part of the problem, it was 'their' home away from home. They were supposed to pilot the thing together, and the thought that she had to talk to other people however made the back of his throat growl towards the idea of him not being around actually made him jealous.
"He had some good advice when it came to calling me. If you hadn't i'd still be away from you, whoever the man was you should definetly thank him, and you should know that no matter what, my feelings for you haven't changed." He kissed his sisters cheek openly in the hallway. "You're still my Onee chan, and you should know by now I haven't changed. I'm just a little colder than i used to be."
tugar [9:58 PM] (that's assuming they know both people.... ) (edited)
risaxseph [10:05 PM] "... I technically have a captains mess but I never really use it... only time I've ever done that is when I was making up to Dom my being an insensitive idiot." She sort of laughed it off. "he requested a transfer though I think. I got some weird transfer orders and I haven't had a chance to talk with him yet but it's weird because they say something about him getting a command... I have no idea at all..." Yuka replied.
Kiyoko noticed how he seemed kind of jealous "it's just a new crewmembers... Silly Hikaru-chan... Anata wa shitto subekide wa arimasen..." she listened to him intently. After he was done and kissed her cheek she responded with a smile "I should thank Mr. Blom... I just became more like my old self... reserved unless I'm passionate about something... Let's go get food... This ship has replicators and actual kitchen staff... it definitely beats anything we would have in the field hands-down... The lounge is pretty awesome too that's actually where I spend most of my off time... well I hide in the corner so no one can find me but people end up talking to me anyway..." she smirked at the end of her statement as if people were defeating her by attempting to speak to her in the lounge when she wanted to hide. She couldn't be rude and just ignore them so to her dismay she would start conversations with people when they spoke to her because she did not want to sound mean or rude after all such things were inappropriate when these people at some point could save your life. If you want to at least be on some level of good terms with them.
Aidan was thinking...."So we'll have the kitchen staff prepare us a picnic lunch complete with wicker basket, red and white gingham blanket, and fried chicken. When we can all get away at the same time."
"... that sounds fun but I was meaning right now... it's the middle of the day and I got everything I needed to done... Sakura is on the bridge... pretty much we've just been lounging around all day... we should at least get lunch silly... show the crew we actually exist you know..." she said as she drank the rest of her beer... even though she did not like it it tasted better somehow when she was with him.
"Okay....food stand, or sit down lunch? Do we want to be waited on or have it to walk around with?" Aidan asked.
"... Mess hall is usually sit down...or would you prefer the lounge or using the captains mess even though I never use the damn thing..."
"While I was away from you, I kind of became you. You kept me alive on the battlefield because I just kept thinking what would Kiyoko-nee do, and i ended up charging half the time." He smiled and started walking with her towards the mess again taking her hand as he walked. "Yeah, but it's splitting us up again. I just thought my first shift would actually be with you." He sighed and rolled his eyes.
"and what about your home cooking. Sure the staff are probably better at cooking than you are." He sang with a soft teasing edge to his voice. "But, it's been so long since I got anything you made."
"I'm just going to follow the pretty lady's lead on my arm. I get in less trouble that way."
"Oh wait yeah that's right you told me that I was in charge of you... and then I got to dominate and control you today... see you thought I meant sex but there's a lot more to romance in life and just obliterating your partner with awesome sex..." Yuka smirked
"I'm going to get a t-shirt that says "obliterate me" on it now." Aidan waited for the smack, then added. "But I get it. It's nice to have conversation without running out of breath too."
"Blom wants me to cook and teach me some things... in exchange I'd show him some things... i've never actually really had a friend to talk about even though the two of us have only met once... or twice something like that but he just seems like such an enjoyable person... for an old man anyway... if he were any younger and I'd think he were hitting on me and then you'd probably go murder him... I think we will have a lot more time together though... it's only a few hours and hopefully the introductions won't take too long then I can just go seek refuge from people... maybe go read some history books... this ship has a nice library." Kiyoko did not respond to the part about him becoming more like her because she honestly did not know how to respond to that. She didn't know if that was a good thing or a bad thing and so she didn't want to say anything about it lest she cause problems. It was definitely more obvious that she had become more reserved.
"i'll get you a whole set of shirts that say everything from "I'm with emo" to "look at me I'm a sex monster" you know it would be fun!" Yuka seemed to be making fun of herself with the emo comment. She got up picking up the last beer and handing it to him "first though you must drink this you cannot leave the stuff lying around even if it is just energy and will disappear still wasting is bad..." she said putting her arms to her side as if disciplining a small child (edited)
Hikaru's hand ran up his sister's side, his fingers sneaking under her arm and tickling her hard when she spoke. She was too reserved, and around anyone else that was fine, but this was him they were talking about. He wanted to make sure that the two of them were back on equal ground. Also when she mentioned her friend was an old man, and that he would kill him for flirting with her he actually laughed. "I mean it would be kind of weird if the guy had you call him 'daddy' or something, but I'm not about to kill anyone. Besides it would be more fun if you did make friends, and if the guy did flirt with you, you should have him join us for a night."
He looked at his sister. "Oh come on, i'm not gay, but I'm also your brother, and what brother doesn't want to see his sister happy. Three people in bed are better than two, it's just basic math."
He up-ended the beer with little effort. It was enticing to drink beer again. Half of him wishing it were real, the other half knowing he was not good at maintaining control around it. "Ready when you are, babe."
"... eh..." Kiyoko stared "... you want me to proposition sex with other people... I don't know if I'm comfortable with that..." she stared at him for a moment then said "I don't know if I like you becoming me either... there's a reason my opinionated personality and and winning people skills got us on the fast track to rank hell... I like to you carefree and open... Don't be like me Hikaru." She had a pouty face.
Yuka took Aidan's hand and had the program ended. She then began to lead the two of them to the mess hall. "now imagine if all of that were actually alcohol... you lush..." She teased
"It would be easier for you to have your way with me. Then again, I'd probably go into caveman mode and just take you here. Still an option." he added as he teased her with a swat on the butt.
"in the middle of the hallway... your ass would be grass and I would be the lawnmower... A general court-martial would be the least of your worries..." Yuka teased giving him this playing hard to get look when he lightly slapped her ass.
"I'm not saying to just have sex with other people I'm saying that if there is someone you like, or want to have sex with, invite them to have sex with us, the key word there is us." and he shrugged. "Eh, kept me alive, and honestly after loosing you once, if being a little brash keeps us together than I'm willing to kick some ass."
risaxseph [10:40 PM] "... Not that it matters but I don't really believe people are going to be all that accepting of us anyway... being twins and all..." Kiyoko said. "i'm glad you seem stronger though..." (edited)
Aidan just laughed at her. "Sometimes my love, it's too tempting a target." he pulled her into himself for a second though she playfully tried to push away. (edited)
It wasn't really that he seemed stronger it was that his indominable sister seemed a lot weaker. so much so that he was actually considering sending her to medical. "Fuck it, we've already decided that we were going to be together this time right? Twincest and all? If people can't get on board with that, then hey it just means they loose out on the sexiest, strongest woman on this boat."
"I'm gunna blow your house down... I mean yeah public displays of affection on being that we are engaged but we also are the captain and first officer doesn't exactly look good if we start smooching each other in public you know." She said winking attempting to play the good girl for once and be an example... even though really she's just liked teasing him.
Kiyoko made eye contact with her brother then nodded. "we did agree... and I even initiated... I'm sorry..." Kiyoko said as they arrived outside the mess. She while still the same pilot she always was but outside of that she had become weaker; more reserved and more fearful of others. She flat out didn't want to interact with people whereas before she would interact with them to correct them or make them do better though now; while she was still opinionated she kept her opinion to herself a lot.
He continued the tease though he added a few inches of space between them. "Someone has to teach them how to do it correctly. Set the example. Raise the bar. Would you have me let my considerable talents fester and go unused?" Aidan quipped.
It was kind of annoying if only because his Kiyoko didn't appologize, but if she could put up with him being a little colder outwards, and physically, seriously he would kill for a mother fucking bath, he could put up with his cute little sister being just a little more reserved. Still he grabbed her ass. If only because he couldn't stand the thought that her butt would be so appologetic and not at all molested. "You can't appologize for loving me, that's just not fair."
"you should be the ships teacher then" she responded back with an equally resounding sarcasm. Yuka was enjoying this... almost too much it seemed.
"I got us into this whole mess though... from your never reaching Lieutenant Commander... to both of us basically plummeting to the bottom of the contact list and ending up in task group 17 we're pretty much all the shit pilots go... The maintenance guys at Rigal were incompetent... The point where I am confused as to how they didn't get us both killed... I did that... Not you... Not father... I wasted our lives because I couldn't keep my mouth shut... And then... you get sent off to go die because... I again didn't keep my feelings to myself." Kiyoko walked in the mess without another word. By this time Yuka and Aidan were walking up. Yuka noticed the girl; whom she recognized as one of their pilots walking away from her companion... they looked nearly identical... Twins perhaps... maybe these two were the pilot duo Sakura mentioned to her. She hadn't really spoken to Kiyoko much and with her brother just arriving on board hours prior she definitely would not have met him yet.
"Kiyoko, do you know how many times I was offered a chance to split up our team? Every time you messed up I was offered a different posting with a better partner and a 'come here and be better, earn a command make your father proud.' nonsense. Our sperm giver." he couldn't not shudder at that term. "Was an asshole for splitting us up, but every time before that have no illusion. I chose to stay with you. Everytime you said something I supported that choice and stayed with you. It wasn't because I was always madly in love with you either."
"You are my sister you are the one thing I have in this crazy universe that makes anysense, and if I had to go to hell, then at least i had my best friend and closest sibling with me! Cause fuck being anyone else, and fuck being liuetenant commander, and now turn around, throw your arms around me and kiss me, in this cafeteria before I do it, because that's what you should be doing, not throwing this pitty party for two."
"I... just wanted to do my job and get to spend time with you... even before our love... I want to be with my brother... but the world doesn't want that... I'm glad you still want to be around me... I don't thing a public display would be appropriate here." Kiyoko said. In her mind she wanted to throw out her emotions in front of everyone, yell, scream... grab her brother and never let go... hide in the seeker for the rest of her life where their father couldn't get her but she was being held back behind this internal wall.
Yuka blinked "um... did we somehow work upon like drama or something?" She whispered to Aidan to not interrupt or insult them. She wondered if she should say something or if they should just walk on by and act like nothings going on to get their food.
Aidan and Yuka passed through the doors of the Mess Hall, chatting and small talk. Aidan skipped a step when he saw the couple in a rather amorous embrace. "I may not interrupt. I will have a talk with them though. It's called discretion. There is a time and place. That isn't a friendly peck on the cheek. This isn't the time or place." (edited)
"... er... I think it's more like... Well with Em all of us weren't exactly the best example..."
"Oh for crepes sake. One crusty old cum juggling admiral is not the world the rest of this crew don't give a fuck, and you know what I can prove it!" Walking forward he grabbed her sister some would have said a little too violently as he lifted her off her feet, his hand wrapping around her back and raising one of her legs against her chest, dipping her as he took her lips, and pressed his tongue into her mouth.
"True. Which is why I dragged you to the closet over there." Aidan said. (edited)
"Yeah... and he picks her up... as sweet as that is yeah get a room..." Yuka chuckles lowly.
Aidan could only take so much. He walked behind the pair, and cleared his throat.
Kiyoko was sort of taken aback by Hikaru... he was a lot more forward than she thought he was. Not that it was a bad thing or that she was reacting badly... she was confused. Lost would be sort of a better word to describe her situation. Her being spun around in a roller coaster in this confused and lost State was seemingly intensified by the fact that there was now someone attempting to get their attention. What should she do... She then spoke "Hikaru..." she pointed to Aidan she was thankful for an out. It was not that she did not want to be close to him... She was just down; she didn't want to trouble him with her being down but who else would she go to and when he was talking to her what else could she say... what else could she do... she didn't know... Yuka came over standing next to Aidan. (if I recall they are both out of uniform)
Hikaru blinked when he saw the two commanding officers standing over him, his grip on Kiyoko slipped due more to the shock, and his sister dropped from his hand and onto the floor. Looking between the three others he looked at the captain, the xo, and his sister. "I'm not gonna apologize for a PDA while off duty."
"Um... a time and place though..." Yuka said simply.
"One is a PDA and the other... one step from dry humping her through her clothes." Aidan offered.
Kiyoko recovered herself from the floor standing emotionless even if she wanted to bow, be all formal and apologize up and down for her brother... as he had done for her countless times.
kaligos [11:41 PM] "To be fair, dry humping is a form of affection." Hikaru couldn't have believed his own mouth, but at the same time this was not something he would willingly back down on. "I wasn't going to undress her in public."
She was just too lost to do anything but stand there Yuka coughed "boys... don't make it a scene... let's just sit and eat...we are all officers... screaming at each other in front of all the junior officers..."
Aidan was already on a roll. Too much Marine in him. "Bully for you. Since you want to get into this here and now, I'll let you know what I think, no filters. I don't care what you two do on your own time, in private areas. This...."he swept his arms," is NOT a private area. Are we clear?" He voice halfway to drill instructor mode.
"... Seriously..." Yuka put her head in her hands "you didn't have to go all Marine on them..." she said under her breath
"Please don't argue." Was all Kiyoko could get out seemingly sounding like a deer in headlights.
Hikaru looked at the man, then to the woman, then back to his sister, the offer to get something to eat was on the table sure, but as he went to drill sergeant mode he just couldn't be bothered to be intimidated. "Well sir you have made yourself clear, now as uncandid as I can be. I just got here after two months of nearly dying, I see the love of my life." He gestures to Kiyoko, "and you expect me to keep my hands off of that. While I am on duty you can expect me to be a model lieutenant, but as this is my leasure time you hold no sway over me, I haven't even started officially yet as the last of my registrations are still going through clerical, until such time as I am under your command you can take your concerns and file them in a memo entitled shit to shove up your ass."
He was going to die, he was going to get him and Kiyoko killed.
It took all Aidan's will power not break the newcomer's jaw since he was twice the Lieutenant's size. "So you are the only sorry ass soldier in this whole ship is ALMOST got killed? Cry me a fucking river. I was in combat when your idea of a good time was watching a cartoon and gnawing on a popsicle. " (edited)
"... STOP IT!" Kiyoko yelled "OK I've let people say shit for months... my father can go to hell... Hikaru... I do love you but the lieutenant colonel and Captain are correct... it doesn't matter our circumstances... now if both of the men are going to have a pissing contest I will just kick both of you in the balls and then I will win so you both need to either shut the fuck up and eat or leave and go piss on each other in your office!" Her opinionated self seemingly finally breaking through the wall. She was actually nearly shaking. Yuka stepped over "calm down... don't hurt anybody..." the two met Eye contact and seemingly had reach some kind of an agreement. There eyes had reached a calming understanding.
Yuka looked over at Aidan like he was not helping the matter.
Hikaru's attention snapped towards Kiyoko and everything else seemed to melt away, the anger he felt towards the random man no longer a thought in his mind as he snapped back to blissful realtity as he stepped up beside his sister. "Good to have you back, lets eat."
Aidan was beet red, on the verge of reaching out and engaging in some wall to wall counseling. He let Yuka's cooler head prevail, but would not soon forget the encounter.
"Oy vey..." Yuka said before seating Kiyoko herself and making sure the boys took their seat. She then took everyone's order and got the food herself and came back apparently acting is the groups chaperone since she felt the three of them couldn't manage each other properly (oh mom but we want to fight) (edited)
Aidan stewed, his mood was spoiled as was his appetite. There were a hundred things he wanted to say, none of it complimentary at the moment.
Yuka sat after getting everything in order.
Hikaru ordered something with Chicken, and coleslaw salad. Any will the man had to fight was long gone from the instant that Kiyoko had spoken up, after all she had finally said that she loved him. Anything else was beside the point. He looked between the three companions a joyful smile on his face. "So proper introductions, I am Hikaru Ino, liuetnant I will be joining the flight group as the pilot for the Seeker, Kiyoko Ino, my twin will be taking over as gunner. I start tomorrow, all the paper work is filed, it's nice to meet you both."
"Wakari masu ka?" Kiyoko said to Yuka. The girl literally just stared blankly at her. "No Japanese?" Kiyoko inquired. Yuka said "I was born in America so no. Anyway Yuka Layton... Captain of the DFS Lavie and pilot of Defender." "why are you having me be gunner now..." Kiyoko whined at her brother.
Aidan closed his eyes. Not responding to the comment, her tried to let the tension bleed from his body. It was a sheer act of will. One he wanted to do for Yuka, more than anything else. She deserved a good day. Some of his appetite returned. He slipped a hand under the table and patted her leg in secret.
She put her hand on his.
"Because switching it up is healthy for the routeen, that and I'm not really sure why, it just said pilot on my card, I'm sure you will get the piloting station back though, you always do." He added a flase grumble to his voice, but turned towards the other companions, "Captain it's nice to meet you." He said giving a slight bow. "Your second is often silent?"
"nope he's just stewing like a fresh pot of stew... and not to like break you two up but you know if you want to pilot a unit yourself I don't ever use defender and I'm pretty sure he gets pretty annoyed with the fact that no one ever pilots him. He always makes comments about how he requires his pilot and crap like that."
"you want me to pilot your machine?" Kiyoko asked.
"Nope not an option."
"Only if you're really that intent on piloting something. I'm pretty sure you to work better together but... well there's your answer..."
Aidan thought to himself *only when I'm trying to not murder a new insolent crew-member* (edited)
(he didn't say that out loud)
kaligos [12:24 AM] (sorry you used " instead of italics, or ')
risaxseph [12:24 AM] (uses delete button to save the day)
kaligos [12:25 AM] (now it says said)
[12:25] (is there a non delete button?)
risaxseph [12:25 AM] "But brother... we've never actually done tandem mechs before... that actually could be interesting. Think of all the cool stunts we can do!" (edited)
[12:26] Yuka laughed "I never even got to do that kind of stuff in RINZ... "
kaligos [12:27 AM] "We just got the seeker back, and I just got you back." Hikaru went silent not feeling the best in this situation. If his sister wanted to leave him... he would probably shut down again
"i've had the seeker this whole time dear..." Kiyoko said patting his head then forcing food into his mouth
He chewed the food as Kiyoko gave him some, but he just looked between them. She had the seeker, but not him... She wanted to get a different mech? She wanted to leave him...
Aidan worked on his fries as they always got cold first. Taking a bite of the salmon burger, he added more tartar sauce and tried to slow down against his marine training.
Kiyoko looked into Hikaru's eyes then poked their noses together. "i'm not going anywhere... piloting two units on the same patrol just allows for the patrol to end faster... no pouting... you were just lecturing me about pouting... bad brother..." she said condescendingly but in a childish manner.
"These twins are entertaining." Yuka thought as she forced more food than he was going to eat into Aidan's mouth with a grin on her face then toying with him "come on marine you're not slow enough... be fast- I mean slower!" She said in a drill Sergeant like tone
"Maybe I want seconds." He stuck his tongue out trying to lighten his mood. "Defender aside, as he is sentient or damn close. I don't understand the attraction to pilot a mech. Though I know this isn't the right table to say that at." "The same could be said about fighter pilots though, incursion personnel like you Marines... intelligence you know any risky department."
"just replace them with 100 Lumi's!!!!"
Hikaru didn't like it, the idea of the slower controls on the seeker meant that without two people in the seat the mech would work but it was slower and less effecient whoever was left in the mech would be at a disadvantage, also it would be a wide breath of empty void between them. They would loose the comfy bed they once had used as their living quarters, that tight obnoxious shower.
It was more then a mech unit it was their home, and to just cast that aside for something new and shiny. even as Kiyoko told him not to pout he wanted too. "Sorry i'll get over it."
"I'm irreplacable." He quipped.
"... no... bad" she replied that she could tell by his tone that he was not OK. She wanted a change of pace true but she would never want to replace him. "... look being locked in the proverbial cage for months without you... that thing became more of a symbol of our father being an asshole... than it did... us... I know that we've piloted it together for years... look I'll just do whatever you want..." She said.
Yuka observed the twins and their back and forth... she started to wish that she had a sibling. She then looks at Aidan. "I could replace you with you..."
"Umm....come again?"
"Yep... I'll just make another you and replace you with yourself..."
"Great. Now I'm expendable."
"Yep... You could replace your Yuka-chan with another me too..."
"Never accept an imitation when the real thing is available."
They had piloted the Seeker for many years together it was theirs. If she left him with it than it would just remind him of her, and he would be lonely and upset even if she was just a cockpit away, but at the same time if she stayed apparently it was no longer their home, it was just something to remind her of something else.
So if neither of them could take it, "can the guardian be modified to fly tandem?"
"Sometimes generics are better but in this case yeah you do want the actual brand-name." Yuka retorted in agreement.
Kiyoko rolled her eyes. He'd not even been back in it with her maybe her thoughts would change if he were there. She then said Guardian is Sakura Carain's machine... If you want me to stay fine..." she could see how maybe the two of them were different... they did not seem to be getting along as well as they used to.
He leaned in closer. "You're irreplaceable too." Aidan said, winking at her. "Yeah..." Yuka kissed him. She looked at the twins whom were older than she. "from the sound of their conversation I think they might need to talk alone." Yuka said looking at Aidan
"I agree." Aidan downed his drink and collected their plates.
"Oh so she can kiss in public, but I do it and I get a royal investigation?" Hikaru rolled his eyes snapped out of his sulking for a moment by the PDA. Before going back to his sister. "Of course I want you to Stay, i just crawled back from the dead so that we could start being a team again, and you keep trying to send me away." Now that he had eaten he got up. "You know what, i'm gonna be back at my room, feel free to join me when you want me around kiyoko." With that he left.
Yuka and Aidan hurried off before Hikaru spoke. As he spoke Yuka put up her hand "Lieutenant."
"Come to my office at some point." She said "we will discuss your concerns about public displays of affection in a private setting." Yuka then simply waited for response and then we left after he acknowledged her statement.
"Hikaru..." As he left Kiyoko sighed "this is why I stopped talking to people..." she folded her hands and rested her head on them once again feeling defeated.
Kiyoko and Hikaru For his part Hikaru had actually gone back to his room, but he hadn't really stayed there very long. Only long enough to glance at a map, take a look at what he wanted, and scrawl a quick note giving the location where he was actually going to be for when Kiyoko did try to find him.
From there it was just the matter of breaking into the VIP room, which wasn't very hard, his codes as a liuetnant got him in pretty quickly, and running the water for the longest hottest bath this side of the galaxy as he stripped off his old clothing, and then slipped into the tub, his eyes set towards the door, waiting because he knew his sister, and he knew she would eventually come and find him. For now though he was content to play with the bubble jet functions on this rather large bath tub, and make sure that everything stayed heated as he sank into heavenly bliss.
Kiyoko sighed taking the plates to the replicator. She had sat there for a while after he had left just milling around in her head. Her opinions had once again caused her problems... Maybe she should just keep her opinions to herself. She finally got up and silently headed to her room then after a glance around the place she left and use the call button on the door to his room. She waited for a moment and then did it again... after the third time she finally just opened the door. Finding the note she sat there... would her presence only cause him more problems. She finally got up and left heading to the room after submitting a request to the quartermaster to have a bath installed. Once she arrived at the empty VIP quarters she simply entered and took a seat on the bed.
When the door opened Hikaru was still lazing about in the bath tub. It was the best feeling he had ever incurred in his life, and when the door opened Hikaru smiled but was a little suprised that she didn't immediately come to join him in the bathroom. "I'm in the bath, come join me! Unless that's security in which case I'm not actually here!"
"I see. Little brothers who abandon their big sisters should have security called on them shouldn't they..." she replied simply. (edited)
"probably." Hikaru said sighing as he ran a hand along his leg. "But then what do big sisters who want to leave their home without their brother deserve to get?" He wasn't really as angry as he had been, the water had helped too melt away most of his concerns, but at the same time he couldn't help that snide remark. "Maybe they can both avoid security if they are both in the bathtub."
"... what is home really though when everything is torn away... it is just another building... just a habitable space..." She said then she added ".,, As for big sisters who leave home... they are destined to a life of eternal torment." She disrobed and then came in staring at him. (edited)
Seeing his sister standing naked in the doorway, it was a little odd if only because she looked dark and spooky with the way she was talking. He quickly moved so that she could comfortably fit inside the tub with him, it wasn't hard considering the VIP quarters were massive. _we should really just live in here_ He brushed a hand across where he wanted her to sit. "You're not going through another dark poetry phase are you? I don't think I can stand another summer like when you were fourteen. We're the wonder twins this isn't our first arguement Kiyoko, and home is where we are together obviously."
"We are soldiers in a war of attrition with a guy who believes he's God and will stop at nothing to control the galaxy... complete with blowing up entire world's, enslaving entire populations and genocide... what's more dark than that I mean really... can you call me dark but that's... look at our working conditions you were sent to go die and I was locked in a starship in a glass bottle." She replied then came in to join him. (edited)
"Yep definitely another dark poetry phase, soon were gonna see the eyeliner, and then your gonna try and change your name." He rolled his eyes playfully. He knew how dark the situation was, but as she joined him, he gently placed his hand on her thigh moving a little closer to her. "Yes it's a bad situation, but i'm gonna say it here and now, our time together is more important than the war. It's not in the larger victories but in the small little triumphs that make our lives better. Yes I was sent out to die by our colon of a father, but I survived, and we are now together. and together we can do better. Which is why the seeker is important. We've been with that thing since we graduated the AMC, it's ours not his, you kept it in running condition while I was away we had a place to come back too, and now that I'm back we've been... guilt ridden."
"... then there was another person that I was starting to enjoy being around and he just up and left... that always happens when we try to make friends... they either get reassigned, die or we get reassigned... Pretty stupid if you ask me."
"But I came back." Hikaru sighed as he leaned back his neck submerging in the hot water. "This isn't like every other posting we've ever had. Before we were the admirals kids, we got shuffled around so quickly because we were his tools. We got sent out and away before we could gather and meet people, now is different were on a ship where we can't be reassigned. We are finally gonna be around people for a long period of time. This is our chance to make other friends together."
"if we don't scare everyone away with our oddness..." she said
"That's there problem. The captain and the first officer seemed to like you."
"... Sakura Carain liked me too... then Mr. Blom... Ensign Marteniz..."
"then we are already making steps. I imagine it will take time for me to meet others, but that AI girl called me cute, so I'll count that as a friend in the making. But yes dear sister this is our chance to change things for us. Just not too much. We are the wonder twins after all."
"I'm not saying I don't want to be on the Seeker at all... I just think flying two machines together might be fun... that's all I was interested in."
"I just don't like being in the seeker alone"
"because of the spermgiver."
"Well i'd rather not." there were more risks involved if they split up, and the more risks they took the chances that one of them might not come home. If they were together and something happened he could live with that, if something happened and one of them didn't come home, but the other survived... that was a new definetion of hell for him, and it wasn't going to happen. "No one likes being in that thing alone! It's new but it's also old and it smells, and it's paint job is ugly as sin, it's top of the line, but it's also cramped cold, and the only part of that machine I liked was the bed. But you won't be in it alone dumb dumb, I am with you again, and despite the seekers many faults one machine is better than two."
"... The other problem is since I'm the unit XO... eventually they they might move to my own machine... it might even get worse if they actually you know put me in a command level position of some kind... what would we do then..." she said as she thought of the possibility of them actually putting her in charge of the unit. (edited)
"you know you can deny a promotion right? I did it all the time." Hikaru rolled his eyes. "I don't think the command staff here are going to try and separate us anytime soon. We can play the what if game all day, but we will loose because we aren't focusing on the here and now. What if I get promoted to command? I'm not as cute as you, but I have more experiances that endeer myself to command. Oh and what if dad splits us up again, what if I decide that AI is cute and i decide to marry her? the answer is the same as it always has been. Don't think about it."
"Till it happens, it's not our concern."
"I'd actually enjoy playing with the AI girl... Dad won't... The fleet ethics committee has actually tarred him into a wall. And the command people here might not try to separate us for a while even if they make me the leader... that just means that you would be my manwhore... are you prepared to be my plaything little brother?" She teased
"And I would enjoy having another man in the bed with us." Hikaru replied smiling as he looked at his sister. "Like I said three is better than two."
When her voice changed to something more sultry he chuckled and grabbed his sister by the hips, pulling her onto his lap. "Sorry big sister, but who's who is who's plaything?" He kissed her neck as he rested her on his lap, his fingers dancing over her skin for a moment.
"you're a bad boy... besides I haven't exactly slept yet... Somebody has to do the night shift. And they had me introduce those crewmembers... I really hope that Sakura can adjust the shifts so Dale does SOMETHING so you and I don't get forced to work opposites or something.
"Yeah i haven't slept since i left a world three days ago, do you know how little space I had? You can be up an hour or two more. I know your stamina, besides your just meeting people, i'm the one who has patrol in five hours. So I think." His hand wrapped around one of her breasts rolling his fingers over her breast and nipple. "I think I can play with you, besides I've missed you. Your not gonna deny your little brother his favorite toy are you?"
"you can wait for me to take a nap to catch you after all you still need to unpack." She said grinning at him touching foreheads.
"Oh fine. But when I call you up after my shift your gonna suck on me like a lollipop." He said before gently letting his sister up. "I'm gonna stay here for like three more minutes."
"oh you could stay here for hours and then security will find you Will end up in the brig..." she said greening attempting to tease him as she started to put her clothes back on
"They can't arrest you if your naked it's in the manual."
She laughed then patted him on the head. "goodbye little brother... see you later."
She then hurried off to her room to rest for a little while

Kori Carain Cmdr. Lucas Sarcirous DFS Radius – Bridge
Kori was on the bridge of the small ship with her two bridge officers and a guard. There was also the commander of the security team transporting Jim on the bridge as well. She did not like him much as he was literally all business. Cmdr. Sarcirous spoke to Kori as she was just twirling her hair in her finger. Kori had changed a little bit and still resembled her sister Hukari with her brown hair and in her appearance however her eyes in their green beauty looking into the commander as he spoke showed a longing that could not be mistaken; she missed her sister and like Sakura she rarely had time to see Hukari. She was out doing errands for her these days.
“Captain where exactly is our escort?” Lucas Sarcirous asked.
“The DFS Phoenix is still undergoing its final preparations; we were sent ahead to meet the Lavie as it is not hostile out here… Besides as small as the Radius is nobody would attack the President’s personal transport… If it comes to that though we do have two mechs we can deploy or we could just free idiot… I am sure he would happily help in exchange for not dying... Then if he tries to run away we just send Naomi or Arisa after him… Jim will be a good puppy cause he knows if he pisses me off he has no chance with Hukari… In some twisted part of his mind; like with Misu Jim still thinks he has a chance… Moron…” Kori said in a matter of fact tone.
“You mean the President ma’am… Even if she is a blood relative calling your commander in chief by her first name is disrespectful.” Lucas responded trying to correct her.
Kori did not justify the man with a response. She had seen her sister save the galaxy and had been part of it just like Sakura… She did not need some officer who was formerly part of the TD telling HER what to call her sister. The Radius continued to near the rendezvous point.

Starly Mayers Alixea Mayers Matt Miller Ephermera Morrison Kiyoko Ino DFS Lavie - Shuttle Bay/Their Quarters/Lounge August 24th 5466; Early Evening The group was now on a shuttle heading to the Lavie. It was long hours traveling in space and it was quite boring on the way there. The shuttle pilot though he found it odd he was instructed to tow their ship along with them; usually he just made runs to drop people off not tow ships. he was highly confused and it showed in his manuisms.(edited) The shuttle pilot opened the com to the Lavie. "Suttle C16 to Lavie flight control; we are nearing approach... prepare to... um... tractor our cargo so I can actually land this damn thing..." "Roger. C16 Please stand by." The flight controller responded. Alix is silently looking out the window enjoying the view. She is ready to cuss out the captain again if he dares to call her a junker again. Her ship a junker* Ephemera sits next to her, sighing softly. "Alix. You do realize your ship is a junker in "modern day" right? We're sort of fossils here. But. That doesn't mean you can't make it better than this titanic of course." " It's still rude!" She is looking at some other ships flying by. I'm definately upgrading the shit out of my ship." Starly is playing with her hair. Being extremely bored since all the gaming companies she used to play are long gone. The Lavie tractors in the groups ship and lands it in the shuttle bay. The shuttle pilot sighs... He is apparently not use to waiting for cargo to be pulled in before he lands. Matthew walks around patiently. "So we essentially hopped from one reality to another. As well as time traveled over how many centuries?" The shuttle pilot coughs after he spoke. Alix presses her forehead to the window, sighing. Finally the Lavie has their ship landed and moved in the bay. The launch controller gives the shuttle permission to land the shuttle pilot seems overjoyed that he can FINALLY move! "Starly. You like space. How does This work? A planet being so strange with time that we leave and thousands of years pass? Is it like the bastion? Starly looks over, "possibly. There is a chance that we accidentally hopped into a time hole, however, dimensional hopping is a bit beyond me..." Piccogod - Today at 2:14 PM "Looks like heading to Altair iv caused more harm then help." Ephemera gently places has hand on alix's squeezing the sides softly. Alix turns around, "that means that there has to be a way back right?" Matt nods. "Yeah. I've been thinking about it. I would say find Truth or Fate somehow but, there's a chance they don't exist if this is another dimension." The shuttle begins its final approach. Since Sakura is asleep, Yuka and Aidan are indisposed and the bridge crew was all busy Kiyoko had the joy today of meeting the new crew. Hikaru was sent out ot fly the Seeker alone; she got her twin and then they make him fly without her... Oh well... At least he will be back. Kiyoko just waited for the shuttle to land seeming quite amused that a ship was being towed by such a small shuttle. She was in her black duty uniform something she did not wear much as she was usually in her flight suit. First duty as the AMC division XO; meet new crew... "Seems legit" she thought in a bad manner. What should she say to these people though... From the reports they were kids... She was a shy 29 year old veteran mech pilot whom didn't have people skills. She hoped she didn't make an ass of herself with the new crew. The shuttle starts its landing and then the shuttle pilot hurried through his landing checklist as if he was on some kind of drugs. Before everyone knew it he opened the hatch and stepped outside even though the others were in the middle of a conversation he did not seem to care he just wanted OUT.(edited) "Jesus, he looks like a mad man" noted Alix as she watched the pilot freak out. Matt looks at Alix. "Well to be fair we do too." Yeah but I'm at least not a captain that acts claustrophobic. ""* Kiyoko comes over to the shuttle pilot seeming him literally rush out of the shuttle and stand by the door. "Ensign are you okay?" He just nods not saying a word. "Okay... Spastic much..." Kiyoko thinks to herself waiting for the passengers to exist the shuttle. Alix slowly leaves making sure Starly is close. Starly stretches, cracking her back. She follows Alix out of the ship. Kiyoko watches the two girls exit the shuttle and seems to avoid eye contact. Her shyness seeming to make her stick to protocol. She waited for the others to exit the shuttle.(edited) Matthew and Ephemera walk out after. Them heading behind their partners. Ephemera low key goes to hold alix's hand while Matt puts an arm in starly's waist- Matt says after "I guess we are to meet someone soon." As he spoke Kiyoko waited until he was done and then she said "Lt. Kiyoko Ino... XO of the Lavie AMC division... Basically we go die for the cause... Um... So Captain Layton and XO Lt. Col. Thornton are currently indisposed... I was tasked with welcoming you guys aboard... Do you have any questions...?" She asked timidly and handed them the datapads with their quarters information, duty assignments and such information. (if you guys did not see her bio... tnu.wikia.com/wiki/Kiyoko_Ino )(edited) Alix looks at her, "How does money work here?" "Credits... Well everything is provided for you... At least all you need... You order it from the replicator..." She said simply. Starly looks her in the eye, "How is the insurance policy?" "... Insurance... there is no need for that here... Medical will do anything you need for nothing." Ephemera sighs. "Are we to be on land more or in space more?" Matt nodding. "Space...?" Matt says casually "if we invent something better would we be able to send it to the military or government for production?" The shuttle pilot got impatient and walked back in to the shuttle powering it back on. Kiyoko stares as the shuttle starts to lift off. "Ummm Did he even ask... Nevermind... So... building stuff for us... Yeah we have a whole reserach unit on the ship so... I guess..." Kiyoko seemed confused as to why she was being asked such questions. She wanted to go sit at a table and be alone. "So uh... where should we go now?" "... You... have your... room assignments... in the... data pad... and your... duty assignments... The lounge here is pretty nice." She said "Oh... uh... okay?" "So... Did you need anything more?" "I don't think so?" Matt nods no, ephemera gently holding alix's hand a bit more openly. Alix is just being casual about it. "um... Okay... Welcome to the Lavie..." Kiyoko said in a sort of small tone as she saluted. She wondered if she would see them again in a more confortable setting; something not so official and... unsafe for her. She turned then headed for the door. Alix drags Ephermera off to find their room. Ephemera looks at everything. Simultaneously worried and awestruck. "So. We're just going to stick with these guys? She shrugs, "Do we even have a choice? I dont have more than a months worth if food on the ship." Of* Matt looks at starly. "So. Do you think Munny is a form of currency still?" Starly thinks a moment, "We should ask." One of the flight deck officers inserts himself into the conversation as he stares at the space the shuttle once was at. "Odd... Why did the pilot... Um... And money is converted. The replicator will convert it into credits for you." "Oh that works out perfectly then." Kiyoko left the flight deck and hid in the lounge as she usually did at her same table at the far end away from everyone else. Alix finally finds their room, going in to look at the new space. The room was in a standard set up; on one end was the replicator, the other was a chest of drawers then across from it was a couch. The bathroom had a shower. The bed was in the middle of the room and a work desk with computer was kiddy corner to the replicator. "You know if we don't like this and the ship is kept on this one then we can literally just sleep in the ship." Matthew gently goes with starly to the lounge to check it out. "Think they'll have working vending machines?" He chuckles softly. Starly laughs, "It might be considered barbaric!" <END SIM>
