Fleet Captain Delumana was not a happy man as it had taken his newly assembled fleet a couple of detours in order to reach their destination and if anything, he hated to this late to anything.
One of the detours was when Alliance Intelligence discovered a slavery operation in the Casimir system, a location within two jumps into six of the major shipping lanes of the Alliance central systems, and several of Sting's ships were assigned to wiping out the operation before they could meet up with the rest of the fleet and then he had to wait till replacements for three of those ships that needed to have their systems fully repaired and then the Onyx had moved from its previous location and the fleet had to alter course to meet up with it.
Now Sting was walking along one of the rows of the Alliance's new Atlus Starworks CB58 Valfarre-class Light Fighter aboard the AFS Canis (Sentinel-class Command Battlecruiser/NCC-2199), his right hand running over the smooth lines when his yeoman walked up and got his attention with a polite cough. "What do you have for me, Kalmus?" he asked without looking at the young officer.
"I just received word from the flagship, sir. We're twenty minutes out from the Onyx and Commander Slayton is curious if...and I believe that I'm paraphrasing here...sit in your chair and do your job, sir?" the young Benzite officer, sounding a bit unsure at the last bit.
Sting allowed himself a moment to chuckle lightly as he turned to face the younger man. "Alright, send word back to the commander that I'm on my way." he said as he motioned for Kalmus to follow him and the two made their way through the Canis, its crew going about their usual routines before finally reaching the closest transporter room. "Beam us to pad Alpha on the Shanxi, chief." Sting said as the two men stepped onto the pad and then were beamed to the flagship, stepping off as Fleet MCPO Briggs Rook'shir walked into the room. "Chief, usually you meet me when there is a problem."
Rook'shir looked over at the transporter chief who nodded and left the room, the door swishing close behind her. "Yea, we might have a wee bit of one, sir." Rook'shir said in his usual growl of a voice.
"What's up?" Delumana asked casually.
Rook'shir reached into a pocket and withdrew a PADD and then unlocked its contents before handing it over to his captain. "Two ships are requesting to hook up with the fleet before we drop out of metaspace at Onyx."
This wasn't unusual in this day and age as he raised an eyebrow. "Alright, what's the problem then?" he asked.
"Sir...the two ships are the Beowulf and the Raven." Rook'shir explained.
At this Sting blinked hard a couple of times before he accepted the PADD and looked at the information in slight disbelief before looking back up at the FMCPO. "Why are those two ships being added to the fleet?" Sting asked in confusion.
The Alliance Fleet Starships Beowulf and Raven were two ships that had been modified from their original specs to include a wide array of different systems from across the galaxy such as the Raven’s hyper-cooled impulse engines which allowed it to operate under full impulse during operations where the ship should be “cold” with no systems active or the Beowulf’s wide array of unique weapons such as it’s subspace torpedo launchers.
It begged the question of why did Bateman send those two ships to meet with the fleet?
Sting walked over to the nearest terminal and inputted a couple of commands that first secured the panel from the local network and the inputted a series of counter commands that opened up a secured channel to the “elder” of the two warships.
The symbol Alliance Special Operations Command, a downwards pointing triangle with a downward arching white lighting bolt, appeared on the screen for a few seconds before it was replaced with the face of the Beowulf’s commanding officer.
“What’s the situation, Captain?” Sting asked plainly.

A short while later in his temporary quarters on the Onyx, the President of the Manticorian Systems Alliance was sitting in a chair that looked out into the vast inky depths of space when several blue swirling portals opened up in the black around the massive city-ship before one wave of starship after starship emerged from them.
The gleaming bronzed hulls of the Valefor series of Science Battlecruisers being under armed escort of a small swarm of squat, arrowhead shaped Remora-class escorts, the long thickly armored hulls of an Anima-class Heavy Artillery Cruiser, with it’s array of phaser, plasma, and disruptor cannons and proton torpedo launchers with three of his navy’s Siren-class Hospital ships with their angular, pristine hulls looking very out of place next to the weapons heavy monster that was the Anima as a Reaver-class Multi-Mission Explorer sped past, it’s gleaming and sleek hull was one that Rokk was familiar with and after a fashion, it’s presence gave Rokk a kind of dark satisfaction that his decision to grant Admiral Layton and General Thornton access to two of the SOC’s warships would be a unique show of trust.
The last ship that came out of one of the larger metaspace gateway points was the AFS Shanxi herself, long and gleaming with it’s weapons ports closed but still at the ready to open up and be ready for combat at the drop of a hand of Fleet Captain Delumana as the Fleet of the Fog's flagship pulled alongside the Onyx and started the standard operations for new ships contacting their new base command.
Rokk on the other hand was slightly distracted by a chirping sound as Drura arched one eyebrow as she walked over to the terminal that was on the room's desk and brought up some information. "Sir, the Beowulf is hailing you." was all that she said.
Rokk's own eyebrow arched in reaction as he got up and quickly crossed the room, Drura moving to allow him to sit down at the desk and input his security code before the sigil of the MSA-SOC disappeared and a dull-brown, leathery face appeared on the screen, the lights of the bridge behind him were a dull muted purple for some reason. "Ah, President Astrovick. I am Lieutenant Commander Grunchik, Intelligence Officer of the Beowulf. I was told by my commanding officer to inform you of our arrival as per the standard operation protocols Grey Seventeen Six Alpha." he said in proud manner.
From behind him however, a strong female voice said "Grunchik, the president knows what the protocol is as he is the one that created it."
Grunchik turned and said "Understood, commander but..."
"To one side." was all that the woman said before an attractive blonde haired human woman in the green of a sciences uniform appeared. "President Astrovich, we're on station and ready to beam you and the good doctor aboard for the meeting that you requested at your earliest choice."
Rokk couldn't help but smile, "Thank you Commander, I'll let you know shortly."
The woman nodded and then the transmission was terminated as Rokk leaned back in his chair and nodded.
