Arioshi forces engaged in combat with an Ori Security Force murdering all of the humans in the group and taking control of the area they were guarding. It turned out that this area contained a portal of some kind. It is unknown where the portal leads at least for now.
In response to this the Xen Government asked for a SNIEF Team to be dispatched to handle the situation. Sophie Archer and her team were sent to investigate. (It seems like they send her with Zander a lot; is that just to torture her…) (Love is not torture my dear…) (But… She does not share his feelings…) (She will) (No… Not every couple is like you and Mimi; besides if my boyfriend were like you I would have left him long ago… Mimi is hella loyal when all you do is run the f away from her!) SNIEF Field Office; Briefing Room 2, Xen City in the Nation of Laviesta

Donalds was in charge of today’s briefing. The briefing room was full of people; in fact this 16 person room was overfull today. The room was designed so all the chairs faced at the briefing screen as is normal for a room like this. Sophie saw Zander closer to the front of the room along with some soldiers from the Laviesta Special Forces. There were only a few instances when the military ever actually involved itself with SNIEF; the incident in Kaimori was one of them but beyond that she has never really worked with soldiers before. As she was watching the room the last few soldiers came in and Atsuna the silver-haired deputy commander of SNIEF opened the meeting. She first asked for someone to get the lights.
“We have a request for assistance from the Ori Government as well as a request to act from the President’s Office. Long story short there was some strange geographic activity in an area close to Ori so they sent a survey team. After setting up camp the team was attacked and everyone killed. Imaging tells us this was the work of Arioshi affiliated with Atori.” A map appears on the screen behind Atsuna as well as video from satellite which is not exactly that clear but it looks as though the survey team was bombed. “Attempts by the Ori Government to send in a peaceful negotiation squad have been met with more death… With that I had the tactical portion of this briefing over to Commander Donalds from Field Ops.” Ray Donald was an unshaven older balding man who looks like he was close to retirement. A lot of the agents of SNIEF did not have a Contract; for that Zander, Sophie, Momo, Atsuna and Maria were lucky. Most could only see Atsikai and had to fight them with normal technology. It was amazing Donalds had lived as long as he had… The turnover rate was very high as was the casualty rate. “Thank you Director. We will be deploying a Special Operations Team with some Soldiers from our own military. The military will be handling logistics for this mission. They have arranged two military cargo planes to take four jeeps and you all to a drop point near the site of what we are now able to identify as a “Portal”. The first team will be commanded by Archer with Zeffer, Collens and Fields. The second team will be myself, Jackson and one of our sniper teams. The other two teams consist of our soldier friends here. The first team’s job will be to engage the enemy forces; my team will be providing tactical support. Teams three and four will secure the portal.” The screen changes to a map of the extraction and drop off points as well as points of interest.
“A note that this is close to Ori and we also will be passing through a village on the way to the site. Remember the Outerlands are a dangerous place. The few of you raised there should know that; the rest just keep your guard up. Does anyone have any questions?” A soldier asks if they are able to kill things; Donalds sighs and nods in affirmation “As long as you have a valid reason… Sure…”
“The last time soldiers were fighting with us they acted worse than the local police… Why do we have to work with them… Why not just bring Special Forces folks…” Sophie asks “I don’t have any idea.” Donalds responds. A soldier then flips Sophie off and Donalds just points at him “Do that again; I will remove your hand. We don’t need people fighting before we even leave and you can be replaced; she is more valuable than you are.” Donalds says as another solider asks an equally stupid question. Atsuna calls the meeting to a close before anyone else makes an ass of themselves. “The planes will leave in one hour.” Donalds adds. “Why do they always put Zander and I together… He will probably just come on to me again…” Sophie thinks to herself as she and Kenshi exit the room heading for the plane. Zander is still trapped between the multiple soldiers talking amongst themselves as he was trying to exit the room (they all got up at basically the same time). (OOC: People can start in that village or what have you. They could even be a Contractor sent by special forces; after all that is why I mentioned them... No one from special forces is in this briefing room so no one from SNIEF was told if they were coming or not.). |
